What position gets charged the most errors?
I'm asking because it's become EXTREMELY annoying to see Jose Reyes, after 62 games, get charged with his 21st error of the year with 3 months left to play. From throws in the dirt, to bobbled balls, you name it. It's especially alarming because he accounts for about half of the team's error total. I've got a good handle of the throwing meter and preload my throws correctly, my error sliders were default, then lowered a bit, and I've even raised his arm accuracy and fielding ratings, yet his error rate has gotten worse and he ALWAYS winds up being the fall guy. The frequency of errors in the game is fine, except the SS position racks up the VAST MAJORITY of them for me. Am I the only one? If so what else can I do?!?The Signature of New YorkTags: None -
Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
I am pretty sure that most teams' SS will have the majority of errors, but also the majority of chances. I have not seen much of a difference in defensive ability for SS on this game. No matter who you put there, you will usually get about the same amount of errors. What you are seeing with Reyes is about what I saw the first season with Pennington and so far in my second season with a combination of Pennington, Green, and Kouzmanoff (who doesn't have SS as a primary or secondary position). -
Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
Cards, how many errors did Pennington end up with in that first season? I'm very worried that this rate will continue all year with Reyes. He's averaged what seems to be an error every two games and now they're happening at VERY CRUCIAL moments. He's on pace for about 50-60 errors for the year! The Signature of New YorkComment

Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
According to ChaCha's website second base has the most errors per season. Now, the Tigers had Polanco for the last few years, and I would've said no way during that time, but ever since Carlos Guillen took over, he's been making more errors, so I guess I can see that.
Now in The Show, I'm not sure.Comment

Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
And......now 2 more errors in one game on Reyes, which now makes 23. This has gotten irritating now. And worse, they shouldn't have even counted toward him. The first was a toss to 2B for a force out, but the ball goes through Castillo's glove (graphics glitch) and the second was a ball thrown to 1B that was VERY catchable, but bounced off his glove. It's as if I put a catcher or outfielder at SS or something. Shouldn't his ratings count for something? The Signature of New YorkComment

Yah it does I have Nick Punto as SS (amazing fielder) and he only has 2 errors at the all-star break.Comment

ADJUST your GLOBAL fielding sliders......

Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
I already did, I lowered them one click, something I really didn't wanna do. This should effect the frequency of them happening, right? My problem actually isn't the rate of them, but how often the SS is hit with them. And I really don't wanna lower them any further because as it stands now, the CPU will almost NEVER make any errors, at least nowhere near as many my players make. The Signature of New YorkComment

Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
hmmm...well, you MAY have to do it...or....
bump up Reyes' fielding and throwing accuracy attributes....
for the sake of seeing where his errors are in your season, vs. 2009....
he made 5 in 35 games, which pro-rates to 23 over 162 games....

Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
Shortstops make a ton of errors on this game. Felipe Lopez has 22 through July 31st, and he's only played in 75-80% of my games so far.Comment

I think the game tries to give the player's team a fair amount of errors, but doesn't really know how to dole them out. I believe that is why you see a ton of errors at SS, almost zero at C or 1st, and all three outfielders with perfect fielding ratings.Comment

What position gets charged the most errors?
ok fellas...I just took down some stats from my shortstop, Jose Reyes....
first off, I dont sim and I play all of my Mets games...
I also play on fielding ASSIST, NEVER automatic (not sure if this has any impact)
the numbers:
Reyes: 18 games played (156.2 innings)/64 assists/26 putouts/2 errors.. for a .978 FPCT...which projects to about 16 errors in 150 games...
I DONT use the visible throwing meter...and I will say that I've pretty much helped my own cause by not over-pressing the release button (as I did a lot in '08 and a little in '09)....
The only time I'll screw myself in this manner, are with those rush-rush plays to get a crucial third out, or those 'deep short' plays...which is understandable...
Lastly, my slider settings at this moment are (far left is '0'):
GLOBAL:
fielding errors: 2
throwing errors: 6
holla back!For 2017...

Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
18 games is a pretty small sample size, but it does seem that having error sliders down to 2 has made a noticeable difference in errors charged to your SS. What about other positions? As of the second week in August with default error slider, players playing SS have combined for 44 errors. 2nd base has 17 (note: a lot of players that are not primary 2nd base have played here throughout the season), 1st has 4, 3rd has 12, catcher has 3 (counting one ball 4 in the dirt), and outfielders have 0.Comment

Re: What position gets charged the most errors?
looking around my infield, here's the deal:
Ike Davis: 23 games/13 assists/206 putouts/202.1 innings/3 errors
Luis Castillo: 23 games/53 assists/38 putouts/177 innings/1 error
David Wright: 24 games/46 assists/12 putouts/204.1 innings/0 errors
Alex Cora: 13 games/18 assists/1 putout/70.2 innings/0 errors
Rod Barajas: 21 games/2 assists/118 putouts/146.1 innings/0 errors
Henry Blanco: 16 games/5 assists/82 putouts/89 innings/0 errors
* Fernando Tatis: 19 games/26 assists/29 putouts/131.1 innings/1 error
* has played LF, RF, 1B, 2B, SS and 3B
