ESPN.com's 10 best programs of the past decade....

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/s...t&lid=tab3pos2

I'm a homer so disagree, but since it's ESPN I'm shocked that Duke has only the #1 spot and not spots 1-7.

    1. Duke
    T2. Michigan State
    T2. UConn
    4. Florida
    T5. Kansas
    T5. UNC
    7. Kentucky
    8. Arizona
    9. Maryland
    10. Cuse

Here are the individual ballots. I have no idea why ESPN decided to only include five of their analysts. Talk about a small sample size.

    Jay Bilas
    1. Connecticut
    2. Florida
    3. Duke
    4. Michigan State
    5. Kansas
    6. North Carolina
    7. Arizona
    8. Kentucky
    9. Syracuse
    10. Texas

    Pat Forde
    1. Florida
    2. Connecticut
    3. Duke
    4. Michigan State
    5. Kentucky
    6. Kansas
    7. North Carolina
    8. Maryland
    9. Syracuse
    10. Arizona

Andy Glockner (who the hell is Andy Glockner?)
    1. Duke
    2. Michigan State
    3. Connecticut
    4. Florida
    5. North Carolina
    6. Kentucky
    7. Kansas
    8. Arizona
    9. Maryland
    10. Gonzaga

    Andy Katz
    1. Michigan State
    2. Duke
    3. Connecticut
    4. Florida
    5. Kansas
    6. Arizona
    7. North Carolina
    8. Maryland
    9. Syracuse
    10. Kentucky

    Joe Lunardi
    1. Duke
    2. Michigan State
    3. Florida
    4. Connecticut
    5. North Carolina
    6. Kentucky
    7. Kansas
    8. Arizona
    9. Maryland
    10. Syracuse

It's hilarious to read the comments on each program and then see where they are ranked. They basically trash Syracuse (only 7 tournament wins in the decade outside of the '03 run) and make it sound like they don't deserve to be in the Top 10, which they probably don't.

Pat Forde picks Florida #1 overall? Is he serious? The question is best program of the last decade, not the best program of the last two years. As their blurb says, "My how quickly things change."

How MSU is tied with UConn is a little beyond me. UConn has more NCAA titles, more NCAA tournament wins, more conference regular season championships, more conference tournament championships, better collegiate players, has produced more and better NBA players. The only thing MSU has on UConn is more Final Fours.

On the Florida thing, lets not forget they've been to 3 national title games since 2000. That warrants a top 5 at the least.

        Chips baby.

Florida and UCONN have to be 1 and 2. There's really no legit argument against those two. MSU at #3, Duke at #4, and Kentucky, UNC, Syracuse, and UMD manning #5-8.

If this was college football, then yeah, Duke could be #1, but in basketball, the regular season is worthless as long as you make the tourny.

I saw it last night. I, of course, thought UNC was too low. They over penalized them for one bad year. I would have put UConn @ #1 w/dook.

UNC didn't make the tournament in two of these seasons, so it's 2 bad years. Also 1997 misses the cutoff by one season, so missed a Final Four as well. I would put them higher than Kansas, but not ahead of UConn, duke, Florida and Michigan State. So #5 on my list.

Best teams of the last 10 years. I'd flip-flop the 2 UConn clubs.

I think the 2001 Duke and a healthy 2005 UCONN were far better than the Gators. I don't really think the Gators were that amazing this year. They were obviously the best team in the nation and deserved their chip but this was not exactly the best year in basketball history.

They made like 3 or 4 Final 4's the last 10 years.

They have the most Final Fours over the 10 year period and only Florida and Uconn have more chips.

I heard that last year...and I could understand it. This year, however, I don't get it at all. You had OSU, Kansas, UNC, Memphis, UCLA, all with very good teams...the Gators still had to win the games when it mattered. They did and these other teams didn't. It seems as if people say, "well, since UF won it couldn't have been a very deep year in terms of talent."

I'm not saying it because UF won. I'm saying it because it's how I feel.

OSU, Kansas, UNC, Memphis, and UCLA had good teams, but Kansas, UNC, and Memphis have had teams in the recent past that were much better.

1999 UCONN had Duke. 2001 Duke had to beat UMD and Arizona. The 2002 UMD team had to beat Duke. 2003 Syracuse had to beat Kansas. 2004 UCONN had to beat Duke. 2005 UNC had to beat Illinois.

What great, epic match up did Florida face?
