Save signature animation edits and roster changes in separate files
I'm sure I'm not the only one that makes a lot of changes throughout the year to signature shots, dunks/layup packages, etc. I wish that 2K would separate these files from the normal roster files so that you wouldn't have to go in and change them all over again after every single roster update.

Good idea Kurt.
Seems like it'd be tough to do...but man that would be awesome...

Yeah, I'm sure they would have to rewrite a lot of code and wouldn't be until next year but it sure would save a ton of time. Then you could potentially just choose whether or not to download the latest signature animation update from 2K just like with rosters if they make any changes.Comment

This would be amazing. I often tend to avoid downloading new rosters once I make my animation changes just because of how long it takes lol.Comment

Re: Save signature animation edits and roster changes in separate files
It's absolutely possible to do, but why stop there? How about some per-player version control, as well. Like the Vince Carter from one community roster but the Zach Randolph from the official roster? Be able to grab the versions of the players you want individually. I've been wanting this for FIFTEEN FREAKIN' YEARS.
But yea, back to your point, its really time we get past the whole "rosters need to be grabbed as a whole" and thus overwriting our local edits.NBA 2K18 ratings for several seasons generated from advanced analytics using the SportsCrunch system:

Re: Save signature animation edits and roster changes in separate files
Yeah, that would be ideal. Getting as granular as having accessories, ratings/tendencies, and signature animations in separate save files would solve so many problems. Although for now I would be fine with just animations since that is the biggest time waster for a lot of people. It's absolutely possible to do, but why stop there? Re: Save signature animation edits and roster changes in separate files
I said this in another thread and agree 100%. It doesn't sound like an easy fix, but this is so critical for the roster editing side of the community.
An alternative also could be to allow global importing and/or cut and pasting of player edits across different rosters, as well as the ability to individually import /export players between rosters.Comment

Re: Save signature animation edits and roster changes in separate files
If they enable things like cap sharing like on ps3 enable all the jerseys all star updates we could keep our rosters accurate with everything saved they gave us injuries 2.0 so we can update injuries if needed and i wish they give us the headband option again because i like my rosters to be as accurate as possibleI'm sure I'm not the only one that makes a lot of changes throughout the year to signature shots, dunks/layup packages, etc. I wish that 2K would separate these files from the normal roster files so that you wouldn't have to go in and change them all over again after every single roster update.
