Free throw difficult slider - how does it work?

I mostly play CPU vs CPU and have kept the free throw difficulty slider (which is only on the user side) at 50. However, playing in a 1990s era whenever I play a CPU vs CPU game the teams rarely miss any free throws. Both teams with my current sliders should between 10-15 free throws (sometimes a little more) and routinely shoot over 90% as a team.

Does the free throw slider work in CPU vs CPU games? If so would it work to increase it or decrease it? Has anyone figured this out?

The slider I use for gameplay are amazing but the teams just shoot too good from the free throw line and it throws off the game. For example, in any late game situation when the team intentionally fouls the opposition never misses a free throw so it’s basically a useless tactic unless you can affect the free throw rate at the end so that maybe there are a couple misses.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Free Throws are one of my biggest annoyances in the game... Way too effective

There’s no way to make real percentage work with free throws. Gotta move to shot timing with the difficulty raised up
