... to "Go Over" for good jump-shooting players. The CPU goes under so many picks that it's sickening. Going under screens on Chris Pauls and Steve Nashes and Kobe Bryants should be the exception, not the rule.

Unless there's something I'm missing and perhaps some underlying reason the CPU is going under all my screens.

I think you should always hedge on screens to prevent penetration. I think sliders have something to do with that and maybe coaching sliders do too. In my game they hedge.

I agreee with This thread. Go over for shooter, under for non-shooter. Hard hedge for attackers, soft hedge for non attackers. Double when someone is just burning the hell out of you. What is your take on adjusting the on/off-ball defensive pressure for each player? Yay/Na?

I don't do it personally for the CPU unless it's one of the league's best shooters (Nowitzki, Allen, Nash) or a player who absolutely can't hit a shot out of the paint (DeAndre Jordan, Brendan Haywood-- but even then, it's dangerous, because they have free reign to cut).

thx for the tips guys. i just noticed this year they had a few different options on defense. is this something that was in 2k11? i mainly played my crew games on 2k11 so i never noticed the different defensive options.

I honestly only changed PG-SF since they are the ones that use on ball screens. Haywood, I wouldn't bother since he wouldn't be getting on ball screens.

Yeah...i've been fooling with those options here lately. I think my crew has been playing the game for so long they just go with what they know and don't even explore the new strategy options. Doubt they read forums either, and i'm not saying a word.

I like to go over and trap the ball handler. It surprises a lot of people and causes a lot of turnovers. Going under isn't a bad option though. Some games I'd rather be beaten by shooting somewhat contested 3's than by beaten inside the paint.
