    Perfect CPU QBs

I am trying out sliders for the 2nd year of my CFM (simulated first year) and no matter what I do, Aaron Rodgers in week 1 is unstoppable.

    I have had IG at 1 and 50, pass coverage at 50/50, 55/52, 85/2 and 87/8, CPU Acc at 8, 40, 50 and 60...

Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb both got injured in the preseason, apparently, so their WR Corps for all these games consisted of 81 OVR Davante Adams, 70 OVR Jared Abbrederis and 62 OVR Rookie Stehle Florence. Mark Ingram looks like he comes in for 4WR sets.

My CBs are (M/Z/Press) Janoris Jenkins (86/80/81), rookie Percy Douglas (87/88/91) and rookie Trenten Phillips (81/79/84). Joyner has 76 PRC, 82 Zone, 77 Press and 74 Man. Laurenaitis now has 85 Zone and 75 Man.

My DL has Quinn, 92 OVR Aaron Donald, 80 OVR Brockers and 79 OVR William Hayes (Long is injured).

I had 1 good defensive game that I quit to adjust cpu pass coverage (5 INT with 2 QB). Rodgers got injured after going 4-7 for 48 yards. McCoy came in and was 11-17 before I stopped. Ever since then, I haven't had a good game. I've replayed over 5 times, trying to find a sweet spot (also getting continuity with the same offense vs the same defense). It's getting to the point that I legitimately want to throw my controller.

This particular game, I adjusted Hum Pass Coverage to 87 and Reaction to 8, with QB Accuracy at 60. It looked good because he started off 12-16 with 112 yards and I had sacked him twice... Well, with 3:55 left, Rodgers is 30-34 with 373 yards and 3 TDs... and I've sacked him 9 times now and he's escaped barely for 1 yard twice (Online CFM--AND with QB edits!). I have run 1-5-5, Nickel, 4-3, 4-4 and 5-2 against him (Custom PBK) and mixed up Cover 2, Man, Man Blitz, Zone Blitz, Cover 3, Disguised Cover 3, Cover 4 and Cover 6 across all these formations. On all Man plays, I press with my 91 guy unless he's on Davante and I shade inside globally. On zone plays, I usually play underneath and base align if the WRs are in tight. On all plays, I take control of a hook zone or whoever covers the HB on blitzes and cover the middle if the HB stays in to block... Nothing has worked. He's not even dinking and dunking--they only have 139 YAC--he's hitting guys 10-15 yards downfield and Abbrederis and Adams are consistently beating both my CBs in Man every time I replay it.

Everything else is looking good to me... This is the only part of the game that I can't get even close to what I want. It's either a sack or a completion and there's nothing I can do to stop it...

The only thing I would suggest is not to adjust sliders after only one game.

It is very possible you passed over a good set because in one game Aaron did Aaron.

I'm assuming this is one all madden?

Every NFL game is different. Even the LOB gets lit up sometimes, see this past weekend. I think the more you obsess about sliders the worse the problem is going to get. I gave up 500 yards passing in consecutive weeks to Brees and Ryan with the Vikings then came in and held Rodgers to sub 200. QB's are going to go off the hook sometimes, they should. It's frustrating defensively, but the opposing QB is not always going to have 60% completions 240 yards, 2 TD's 1 INT and get sacked 3 times. The elite QB's in the league are still going to light you up no matter what you do with sliders.

I get this, but there's no reason for a QB not to be affected by constant pressure and 5+ sacks. The problem is, I'm still getting pressure, but somebody in my coverage does something wrong on every play:

Janoris Jenkins in Cover 3 follows the WR on the post, leaving the corner open for a 30+ yard TD. Percy Douglas gets burned by Jared Abbrederis in Press coverage for a TD. Percy Douglas stops and backs up halfway through the receiver's route in man coverage. Cover 2 safety (Joyner) stands and guards nothingness up the middle vs a Slot Outs play.

And then... I restart and everything is back to normal. He just went 16/27 finally. Still had 5 sacks, though.

          All-Pro. Haven't touched All-Madden after getting constant high-scoring games on M25 for PS3.

I don't know what I am doing differently but I just held Brian Hoyer to around 50% completion with 2 picks (I was the saints) and Kapernick to around the same percentage with 3 picks (I was the bears) I have CPU accuracy at 60. I usually hold most quaterbacks between 60-66% with the elites sometimes hovering around 70% so I have know issue. Maybe you need to find ways to improve your defensive play. Are you using the d camera? What positions to do play? Do you call your own plays?

I've noticed that you have to tweak sliders outside CFM and import them in after every change. Changing them inside does not have the desired effect. Recently I've been importing before each game because I swear it's switching back to default all pro in the background.

Is this true like last season? Can anyone confirm this.

Looks like Jenkins lost some on man coverage. I am pretty sure he starts at something over 90 for man coverage, and he has super star development.

After last year I don't even take the chance of not importing sliders..however auto subs seem ok with in CFM adjusting..has this ever been official confirmed last year?

That's my point. I know for sure the auto subs work when adjusted in online CFM.

I have read in multiple threads that sliders have to be adjusted OUTSIDE of CFM and imported to work properly. Changing them in the CFM seems to have no affect. I make my adjustment outside and then import them once in my CFM.

                            Re: Perfect CPU QBs

This is something I posted on Reddit yesterday, and it has improved my defense tremendously. I play All-Pro PS3 NO SLIDERS, and I am having great games defensively. Keep in mind that your defenders are all tied together, so if you make a mistake on your assignment (the player you are usering), your AI defenders will blow the play as well.

"Zone: Cheating out of my area slightly, and not being over aggressive in chasing down routes that are passing through my zone. Know what type of routes threaten that particular zone and be ready for all of them (Ex: If you are playing a CB deep blue, you know they are mainly there for streaks and deep posts, but you cannot forget about deep outs, comebacks or the pain in the *** wheel route).
Man: Play with proper technique (stay between WR and QB), stay in the WR's face, watch his hips until I figure out the route, then shift my eyes to WR's hands or QB's shoulders/eyes. You can cheat off of him a little to bait the QB but it is super risky.
I hated defense about a week ago (I still think the game is deeply flawed), but it seems like if you are doing your job correctly and being patient, you will force a pickable throw regardless of who you are usering. We are getting closer to being forced to play actual football instead of Madden ball."

Little things, like attacking the proper gap if usering a dline man or blitzing, seems to put my secondary and LB's in the right place to make a play when it's time to switch over to them. Before I employed this method, I was dealing with robo qb as well. Learn more about the specific positions, and how they are supposed to play their assignment, and it will help you immensely.
