Online Franchise XP question

How does the XP get applied immediately after a game is completed? I just finished a game and got pretty decent XP for my o line, but hardly anything at all for other positions. Does the rest get applied once the week advances? Thanks in advance.

No, will be added directly.
Only XP for weekly awards (for example) is added after advance.

Something's messed up then because my superstar safety had 121 XP before the game, and now he only has 201.

You really don't get much XP for in-game performance. You get it with weekly goals, which are usually just meeting some minimum number of yards, and through practice. Go to progression history under the player card and you can see what he got XP for.
