Khalib brings up a good point, it was such simplier in the good ole days to purchase the upcoming game. Go read a preview of the game in Game Informer and the next month purchase the game and play the game as is with no patches.

Technology and times have changed and perhaps it's the way the game used to play for me, I didn't see any previews back then, do I really need to see them now? It's nice to see them and like Adem said above, it will be nice to complain about something else.lol

'Biased article'? Lol. This isn't a big deal, but I can't help but ask, what makes it biased? The specific article I posted was about how the ea CEO was going to make EA a more user friendly company. Not sure what's biased about that. Good for ea for trying to show some pride after being rated poorly by the community.

If that poll was biased, idk. I don't know the details of that. But, again, it meant something to the CEO, lol, so it might not have been too biased.

And, yeah. I remember the days of reading the game informer magazines and waiting for the first glimpse of gameplay footage. Lol. So, it was both for me, back then. The video game industry wasn't the giant it was back then, so u had less of an audience to satisfy. But, u know, that being said, we do live in a different time, now. The video game industry is huge. Satisfying customers should be somewhat important to all vid game companies. And, with the interwebs and Utubes, u would actually think they would want to show as much as they can to get a jump on the competition. Or, simply 'enough' to get our mouths watered. That's good marketing.

In any consumer based industry, the companies that reach out to their communities the most and satisfy them tend to the best. So, that's should always be a part of the deal. I do think ea forgets that from time to time.

Yeah, where the poll come from.

It surely didn't come from a business website and that topic was beaten to death around here.

If it came from a business website, I'd give it more credence, but hooray for the Wilson for rallying around it.

I don't recall video game footage back in the day of magazines, just pictures in the magazine and next month you go out to your local Software Inc or GI store and purchase the game.

I just come from a different perspective, and the best I can offer is to agree to disagree on the topic of the need for video footage coverage now for me.

It will arrive soon.

And there are a lot of times I will go out to the manufacture/product first before laying eyes on it.

Different strokes.............

I get that perspective, different strokes sure. As a whole the video game industry has grown so much over the years and become much more a part of the culture than it used to be and will only continue to do so. In a way they have themselves to blame for the type of marketing they do. It just feeds peoples desire for more and also leads to more scrutiny which i dont have a problem with. Games these days have so much potential that i think were in a tricky transition phase to where (right or wrong) theyre becoming less of a hobby to alot of people and more of an obsession to simulate an as close to real life fantasy world as possible. I think in that developers right now are still transitioning from a casual hobby outlook to the latter. I find myself viewing madden this way and hope in the near future the gamemakers do as well. I think the people who view it more as a hobby would enjoy the game either way

I remember seeing this in a 1999 gamepro magazine and it blew my mind at the time of the graphical enhancement the dreamcast had

If everything is coming from the YouTube idiots that means I have to mute all the videos because they all insist on talking through every single second.

Lol. Oh yeah. And, talk about dreaming/wishing/nitpicking on STILL PHOTOS!!! Lol. I did that with them all the time. U look at a photo and think, 'oh, man. I'll bet u can stiff arm fools and jump over them. This game is gonna be so realistic,' etc. Then, u get the game, and think, 'man, this spin move sucks. Wtf?' Lol

There were also pleasant surprises, it wasn't always negative after getting the game. But, yeah, I do remember when magazines was all we had. Geez, I remember when magazines were the only porn we had, too. Lol. The internet DESTROYED that industry!

LOL....anyone read this article?

"Visual Concepts claims that after getting burned twice with the same play, the AI will shift defenders to cover that play for the rest of the game. Even if you change your playcalling and try to go back to the money play, the defense will automatically catch on."
That was for NFL 2K...18 years ago! It was not really in that game that way and its never been in a game since...while the graphics and player models and interactive waste of time movies get added, the core AI experience of video football games is largely unchanged in TWO DECADES!!!

Madden NFL 2017 was a joke against the CPU by November 1st...it will be again this year as it was in 2015, 2010, 2005, etc...second verse, same as the first!

Re: Madden NFL 18 Gameplay Videos From E3 (Off-Camera)

I remember seeing the first E3 video of NFL 2k on Dreamcast, it showed a punt from what appeared to be a broadcast view (from the side) and as the ball went up in the air, the camera panned with it and showed the entire top sections and above/sky of Joe Robbie stadium in Miami, I just sat there with my mouth open, seems funny now but at the time OMG
