Is it time for Madden to move up their release date?

Obviously Madden used to release early August but the past several editions have been mid to late August.

With NBA 2k releasing earlier and how crowded the fall is, do you think it would make sense for Madden to release earlier? I mean really you have a few weeks until the onslaught of video games start releasing. And that's a huge reason why I've passed on the past two years.

Obviously the game is doing just fine but it was just a thought.

I'm not sure. I mean for me it wouldn't matter because I would buy it either way but I feel like the hunger for football is at its peak about a week or 2 before the season

No, cause when i start playing the new madden that means summer is almost over and i don't want that feeling in July, hahaha.

I was never too pressed for an early release because I was into NCAA, and we had demos to bide the time. I say whatever gives the consumers the chance at the most polished product.

I remember a few early releases where I was instantly frustrated and put the game down waiting for a patch... I also remember that happening on a few of the late august releases, too. Different era.

What would be the reason for moving up the release date other than to assuage our impatience?

I would like to see the game released in week 1 of preseason instead of week 3 or 4.

It Would Be Nice To Have The Game In Time For Week 1 Of The Pre-Season. Although I Don't Mind Getting It A Couple Of Weeks Later.

I would say have them push it back to Week 1 of the NFL Season. That way we can have updated rosters and they can have a sale of Ultimate Edition, NFL Ticket Edition as well. Because, when i get the game its not the same until all Rosters are updated (in my opinion). Plus give the developers a week or so more of polishing up the game.
