No, we don't have a clue yet as to when they will patch it, just that it wont be there at release.

So... instead of a conspiracy, could it possibly be that it takes time and resources to get working right in game and they were just waiting til the game ships to assign resources to it and that it may just take a couple months?

Or maybe they could hire more people to get it working right before they release the game, instead of releasing games that are incomplete which seems to be EA's motto as of late.

All this talk about the PS4 Pro, what about the Xbox One S? Will that have HDR support day one?

There is no proof or even a hint that this is because of Microsoft paying EA or getting EA to hold off on releasing the 4K/HDR patch until the One X is out. That's just conspiratorial conjecture.

I'd imagine if EA had it ready for launch that's what they'd want people playing at the Game Changers event, because the videos would look much better and your average person watching would be more likely to buy the game, even if they didn't notice it was the PS4 Pro version.

In all likelihood, it's just not ready, and the cost of developing this for just one console (when EA games sell very well on the Xbox) is not worth the investment, until they can release it on both simultaneously.

We don't. We only factually know that Madden 18 will support 4K and HDR on Xbox One X at some point, as Microsoft lists it on its product listing page for 4K, Xbox One X enhanced games. EA has said that both Pro and Xbox One X will support that, but we don't know the release date of the patch. I think everybody is just assuming if it's not launch, then it's when the Xbox One X comes out this fall.

Even so , how much difference are we talking from the PS4 pro now until the patch comes out. It's not like a whole new system with system specific games. You can literally take the PS4 game and put it into the PS4 pro and it basically enhances the the graphical engine. There is a difference but is it it enough to

USGamer updated their article, no HDR for Xbox One S either apparently at release. No buy for me at this point.

Edit: Now they're saying it will at least support 4k on the Pro at launch:
