Can someone explain the "Auto Subs" feature?

If you go to My Madden, Strategy, Auto-Subs, you'll see a list of sliders which is mostly "[insert position] SUB IN" and "[insert position] SUB OUT."

Does this affect the user or the CPU? What's the difference between Sub In and Sub Out (it seems self-explanatory, but I don't get it)?

Thanks in advance.

first it affects the user. sub out is at what level of fatigue do you want those players to sent to the sideline to rest, at that point, the backup will automatically be subbed in, and when energy/fatigue levels are back up to where you designate, the starter will be subbed back in.

Is there are way that it can effect the cpu players?

This is all based on the fatigue ratings actually working, and in Madden 09, they simply do not work. Fatigue was basically removed (or dumbed down the the point of being almost non-existant) "to counter the no-huddle players online" as stated by Ian, and for me removed a good portion of the strategy of the game.

One of the many moves they made that just made me scratch my head and say wtf were they thinking?

Agreed ^^^.

There is no fatigue in the game unless your player gets hit or tackled.

So you can have a player play special teams, offense, and defense without ever getting tired.

I have no idea why they removed fatigue.

'wtf were they thinking?'

True. Not one of the better decisions, and reinforces the notion that simulation takes a back seat, at least for now. Perhaps this will change going forward.

agreed. Auto Subs is basically useless.

Hopefully next year, we'll get fatigue in its realistic form and what would be even better is a slider for us to determine whats appropriate for our taste.

So setting the Sub Out slider as high as possible would sub players out the most?
