    new qb cone vision mode

Does any one know if this option can be turned off when playing. wonder if this mode could lead to a lot of sacks. Also wondering if anyone has heard if 2006 will have better stadium effects ,Greenbays go pack go riff after first downs for example. Hoping they put a lot of these extras in since they bought all of the rights.

I can't provide a specific quote, but I have read that Vision Passing can be turned off (I don't know if that applies to online or not).

Hopefully, for those that don't want to use it. But I think it adds to the realism.

Hopefully, It will be like being a rookie qb. Until you get used to looking off coverage and not staring down WRs, it will lead to more sacks & pics.

My problem with it will be the cone on the screen. It looks arcady. I wish they could figure out a way to do it w/o the cone showing.

Imo showing the cone onscreen is essential for this to work as intended. It will reward players who look off their receivers, while penalizing those who lock on to a single target. That alone takes Madden closer to being a true sim than it's ever been.

Re: new qb cone vision mode

Is the cone directly reflective of the awareness rating?

Meaning, if I run with my Giants and Eli, will Eli's "cone" become more like his brothers if I produce with him over a few seasons?

From what I've heard it is directly related to ratings, so yes IF your QB develops right his "Cone" would get bigger.

Man, no matter how you say that it sounds just wrong

I agree. Something needs to be seen for this to work effectively. And it will add to the realism. I just wish they came up with a less obvioius visual. Maybe just the QB's head turning or something.

IMO, anything on the screen other than players, refs, grass, fans, ect. adds an arcade-y flavor. The throwing meter from MVP Baseball comes to mind. Great idea, but I did't want to see the meter while I was playing.

I'm probably going to be picking my Buffalo Bills to start out a franchise with, and I'm excited to use 2nd year player JP Losman as my quarterback. It's going to be a learning experience.
