To cone, or not to cone?

I'm 3 games into my franchise, and I'm debating on whether or not to leave the vision cone in place once the regular season comes around. I was sacked 9 times in my 3rd preseason game, and had about 100 yards passing, and about 30 net yards after sacks.. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I just can't get a grip on this "vision cone" thing. I'm not sure that it makes it a better game. I get the whole, "realism" argument, but I'm not sure if it's worth it to be more "real" but less fun.

What will you do? Leave the cone on, or turn it off?

Definitely leave it on. Give it about 5-10 games and you'll get used to it. Now that I have, I can never go back to normal. I always make sure I know where my first and second options are...if I have enough time I'll check the third and so on. I love being able to place the ball inside, high, or low. Feels great when you make that perfect pass. Plus, If I'm being rushed and throw a poor pass, Im going to get penalized for it.....I love the cone!

Put on a lower difficulty to get adjusted to the cone

I appreciate you posting those links. That's the first I've seen them, as I avoid IGN like herpes and haven't dove into the Madden threads until I bought the game this week. Both links are a VERY RARE good piece of information from IGN.

That's just rich, someone who registered here in 2002 called a new guy by someone who registered in 2003.

Maybe the only reason you have 10 times more posts than me is because you post old links 10 times whenever you come across them. If that isn't the definition of a "n00b" thing to do, I don't know what is.

As far as getting back on topic, I say leave the cone on. I am not getting used to it all that fast, but I think it adds realism. The other big factor for me is the "precision passing" that gets turned off if you get rid of the cone. I like using that on deep balls to lead receivers, I find it works pretty well.

I screw up at times using it so far, but I'm leaving it on just because it's different than all the other versions of Madden. The uniqueness just makes it more interesting to use even though I can't use it effortlessly.

I will turn it off though, if it ever gets frustrating. Haven't reached that point yet.
