How do you call your plays?

Just wondering what method people use.

I have always called my plays by formation only, but I have been trying play type and the other choices and it seems to help me mix things up better especially on Defense.

For a true sim experience I use Madden. I will allow myself to use any of the 4 plays on page he selects. This a great house rule to use cause if its 4th and 1 on the 50 when most of you guys just go for it w/ a QB sneak etc... with my house rule you will punt unless its late in the game.

Its a great way to learn the playbook and play in the confines of what a real NFL team would normaly do and it also avoids using exploits on a play when "you just need it".

I use all madden and then pick a play off of the 4 pages he offers that I like. If there are none there that I like then I go by formation and then come back to him.

i usually use formation. I will sometimes ask madden. If its late and im leading and i want to run out the clock and get my RB more carries on different play types i use by player.

On offense I use Ask Madden and most of the time i run the play that is highlighted when it first pops up, but if I don't think it's a good choice I will then choose one of the other plays from those 4 pages. And of course I always have my 5 audibles that I have setup that I can go to if need be. Using Ask Madden keeps you from choosing money plays all the time and gives it a more realistic feel, like a coach is calling the plays in to you on the field.

On defense I call my own plays out of Formation depending on what offensive package the opponent has called.
