LOS and Out of bounds detection

Great game, just adding some constructive criticism. Just had two great games on live, but in both the game was altered by what looked to be incorrect calls regarding LOS and out of bounds. My TE caught a ball near the side of the endzone, did the stutter step animation and clearly had both feet in bounds. He was called out and the challenge denied. The same happened later for a pass near the sideline, and the reverse as well (a player had both feet out of bounds and caught the ball and it was called in).

For LOS, the game ended when his RB on 4 and 1 went down about 1 and 1/2 short and it was called in. The same has happened to me before, only worse, where a rb tried to jump in, got hit in the air, and fell at about the 3. He was never close to going in, but it still counted (i suspect it had something to do with the animation normally carrying him in?) Thanks

I have noticed this as well. Especially on the "ball thrown behind the receiver, receiver sliding feet first out of bounds" catches. Seems if the catch itself is made on these animations with the ball in bounds, the call goes to the offense.

The sidelines are definitely something that could be defined better with the animations. I am guessing it's also tough to program with some of the animations, as well.

I think they may be addressing some of these issues in the next patch.

In my limited time with Madden 09, I too have noticed issues with the AI recognizing the out of bounds line. It's really an eyesore to see players catch balls clearly out of bounds but yet the AI is not smart enough to call it as such .

I may be in the minority but I would really love for the option to display the LOS during gameplay brought back.

Seeing that little blue line get closer to that yellow line was cool. And without any sort of chains or markers on the sidelines, the Blue Line of Scrimmage was also great for scrambling QBs.

Also about the sideline detection: I played a game earlier today where I completed a pass to my HB 20+ yds downfield for a big gain. It was a truly nice play, but my HB ran out of bounds as he came out of the backfield, and then came back inbounds to make the catch. I gladly took the outcome, but that's illegal in the real NFL and it should be illegal in Madden. The players should know that too.

I did Falcon vs Seahawks (Myself) and I litterally saw one of Atlanta's WR's go out of bounds, come right back in, catch a ball, and take it to the house for a TD. I challenged it and of course...it was still a touchdown.

I saw something similar once. An opposing player ran a route behind the goal post, came back in bounds, and caught a ball for the touchdown. Not only that, but one leg was clear out of bounds when he made the catch. I tried challenging, but no luck.

Of all the things people complain about, I think the challenge system needs to most work.
