Generated draft classes vs NCAA draft classes

I'm having a really tough time with this, the ncaa imports seem to make to.many old guys, you'll see a ton of 24 year olds and quite a few 25 year olds which pretty much ruins it, not to mention that there arent enough players in the draft class. But my main problem with the generated ones is you get like 4 receivers with 99 speed in one single draft. There are only like 2 guys currently who have 99 speed, desean and Chris Johnson... So it seems like complete bs to triple that after one draft! What are your guys thoughts on which is better/if you have any work arounds.

Re: Generated draft classes vs NCAA draft classes

I used the NCAA draft classes and the results were absolutely garbage.

I'm guessing the generated classes are more realistic, but I haven't tried them yet. Interested to hear an answer to this question.

Re: Generated draft classes vs NCAA draft classes

It seems like either way you go with it you're going to have problems. My main problem with the generated draft classes are..

Players heights- too many oddly small/large players

Overalls- I want rookie ratings to better reflect how madden does the rookie class for the current season. Generated classes have WAY too many players that have 80-86 overalls. I understand that I could edit players to correct this, but I shouldn't have to waist my time to make a realistic experience.

Late round gems- I get that they exist in real life and all, but how often does a player from the 4th round come into the league in real life and be spectacular off the bat? I can get a rookie rated at least 80 with A potential in every draft in the 4th round if I'm actually scouting and trying.

When you say they were garbage were you refering to player ages? Cause u always get a handful of 25 year old follies and that's complete bs

            The Madden classes are AWESOME.

Each player is put together in a logical manner and the draft classes are set up to have a few busts and gems.

            I haven't imported in 3 years.

You like the fact that you get 5'11 qbs and 4 99 speed guys? It's definitely better than importing, not perfect though

NCAA draft classes are horrible, You can not use them. That feature is broken has been for a long time.

As long as you have ok rosters (with no kickers over 90ovr) in NCAA, the imported classes are absolutely fantastic this year.

There's maybe 2-3 5'11 QBS tops per draft, most of them are C rated or lower. Sometimes 5'11" area QBs succeed in the NFL: kinda like Drew Brees, Colt McCoy, Mike Vick, etc.....

I have never seen 4 99 speed guys in a class. Definitely not 4 A rated 99 speed players. Please show me.

U can obviously see how many college fans their are...imports add more to realism plus you can tinker with the ratings in NCAA before the import..

Re: Generated draft classes vs NCAA draft classes

I kind of like the CPU generated draft class because there are a lot of good players rated 80+. I like how the good players are kind of sprinkled throughout the draft. I used to think it was dumb, but when you think about it , it's pretty realistic that way. The players in my draft were pretty good. There was probably at least one 80+ rated player at each position which is cool. There are some awesome guys. I've seen a 85 rated WR with 95 speed and 78 strength at 6'2", 222 he was a 2nd rounder. Actually that same team, the Redskins, has two 80+ rated WRs from the same draft. Oh, and an 84 rated center and an 84 rated CB. All from the same draft. The Colts have a MLB with 90 speed and 79 strength 86 tackling, rated 83 overall. The Cowboys got a RB with 94 spd, 83 trucking, 91 elusiveness. The Browns got an 85 rated QB with the 1st overall picks. I named him Andrew Luck. I thought it was weird that they drafted him since they have Colt McCoy. The Eagles got a TE with 89 speed. There are a bunch of Right Tackles rated over 76 from this year's draft.

I haven't seen too many freak players. The Lions got a DE with 67 speed and 99 strength who weighs 313 lbs. I was gonna move him to DT, last time I did that to a different team, it moved the player from starter to 2nd string which may not make a difference at DT, but I don't wanna risk it. I'm just scrolling through each position sorted by youngest player and I'm seeing a lot of good rookies. The Seahawks have a DE with 86 speed, 79 strength and 94 acceleration, rated 76 overall. THe Falcons got a DT with 70 speed, 94 strength and 85 acceleration, rated 83 overall in the 2nd round. Denver got a DT with 47 speed and 98 strength who weighs 342 lbs, 82 overall , 5th round.

I haven't been counting, but I'd say there are about 12 - 15 rookies rated over 80. That's a good amount. Some of them are late round steals and there are a few first round guys rated in the 70s. You have a lot of 60 and 50 rated guys who shouldn't even be around, but whatever. I think the CPU generated draft is pretty good for what it is. I don't like the made-up names, though.

I didn't manage to snag any of those 80+ rated players.I picked up a DE with 80 speed, 83 strength and 86 acceleration and some other decent stats. He has A potential and a 74 overall and got him in the 3rd round. He's probably my best pick. I got a 76 rated CB in the 1st round with 89 speed, has B potential. I guess he's more of a physical CB. His press and strength are in that physical CB range. And I got a 72 rated WR in the 2nd round. He has 95 speed and 72 catching. His potential is C and he sucks. He drops EVERYTHING. I hope I can get one of those late round steals next year.
