    Before/After Patch Physics Question

I purchased the game after the first patch went into effect, and didn't play the demo.

I'm wondering if the physics engine had more... "weight" behind the tackles, prior to the patch? For a game that champions its new physics-based engine, I'm wondering why a linebacker or safety running with a full head of steam doesn't hit a ball-carrier with more power?

Were there more "hits" prior to the patch? Is it possible that I'm not using the hit stick correctly? I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but I feel as if tackling a ball-carrier is always a let down, when it should be a rush.

    Re: Before/After Patch Physics Question

Ryan Clark freaking lays the absolute wood for me (pause) in MUT mode. I think he forced 2 fumbles against AP in like an all-pro or all-madden level game.

I guess people say the game plays differently across all modes though so who freaking knows.

I still dont think that the big hits are like super physics based, theyre mostly animated. I think the IE comes in more on gang tackling (too bad asisted tackles dont get recorded)

So i guess I dont really have an answer to your question on pre patch post patch, but I can say that post patch against the CPU in MUT i definitely feel like my defense is hitting hard.

They have tuned it some. It's a double-edged sword really.

Previously, hits were so much that you would be dropped nearly 100% of the time just by running into the back of your own O-Line.

Now, that still happens, but not as often...however, it does seem that Defenses aren't hitting as hard either.

You can try turning tackles up in the sliders, or turning broken tackles down. Might get what you are looking for.

Cool, thanks. Do the tackles "feel" big to you? Or is it only the result (forced fumbles) that you're talking about?

Have you found that speed, like having 5 yards of open field to "build up a head of steam" has any effect on the tackle? I guess I was most disappointed by the lack of ridiculous hits over the middle; I heard "physics" and thought I'd be able to lie in wait for a little old school "how's your mother?"

at least in MUT i feel myself going 'oooh' all the time on defense. I dont think the head of steam has much to do with it. I mean you probably arent going to be decleating anyone with a 1/2 yard start unless they are a receiver going over the middle, but I dont feel like getting a 10 yard run at someone is going to necessarily behead them either. If it was more physics based you wouldnt need the hitstick. And yeah the hits feel big but obviously the end result of the fumble makes them feel just a little bit bigger =P

Have you played many CCMs, online or otherwise? And if so, do the "big" hits feel the same? Or am I potentially missing something, sorta like that CCM vs. Play Now thing?

              Re: Before/After Patch Physics Question

I just started a CCM like 1 day ago, as a power RB and im not the starter so I see like no playing time. I dont really get knocked around too much in practice. I have the break tackle slider turned up a little and the CPUs tackle lowered to 40 though.

Havent played any coach CCM sorry.
