    Contract Negotiation Screen

Alright, help me out folks. I can't figure out this contract renegotiation screen for the life of me.

I have a punter who wants $6M / 3 years, so my assumption is this is a 3-year contract for a total value of $6M. However, on the left side of the screen, if I enter 3 years, $6M, with a $0 bonus, it says "Total Value $18M".

That tells me that the right side of the screen is saying the expected total value of the contract, while the left side is saying the average annual salary.

Then, to make matters more confusing, if I add $1M in bonus, the Total Value is now $21M. So, it seems like I am offering him $1M in bonus for each year of the contract?

    Very confusing...

    Re: Contract Negotiation Screen

OK never mind, I took the time to figure this out.

This guy was in the final year of his rookie deal. 4Y with a $600k bonus, so $150k remaining on the cap hit from his bonus.

I offered the guy 3Y $2M and a $500K bonus. He accepted, and his contract now looks like this:

    4Y $8.4M total, $1.65M bonus

The 1.65M bonus is the $150K left over from his rookie deal for this year, plus $500K for EACH of the years in his new deal.

So, when you offer a player X in bonus, it is actually offering him X for EACH YEAR OF CONTRACT you offer him.

At the end of the day, the values on the left of the screen are:

    1. Years - obvious
    2. Salary - average salary per year you are offering the player
    3. Bonus - amount of bonus you will pay for EACH OFFERED YEAR
