    is classic hitting zone?

there seems to be some confusion as to what classic really is. even the manual has it mixed up. on one hand, it says if you pull up that influences fly ball, down ground ball. but then it says if a pitch is outside, up and away, then you should use the left stick the same way. that is zone hitting. you swing the bat where the ball is pitched. i have done some testing and it seems to me classic is more like zone. at least if you deliberately use it that way. i try to put the stick where the ball is pitched. when i do that, the swing reflects it. so i think this game has zone hitting. you just have to make the effort to use it instead of pulling up and down on the stick. the problem with that is i haven't hit a homerun in 5 games. i direct the left stick where the ball goes. usually i get ground balls and line drivers with a nice variety of hits. just not many fly balls. i don't want to press up to do so. but i also want to hit homeruns. so i am going to keep using this approach, but if i continue to see a lack of them, i might just have to go back to swing stick. but i really believe 2k7 has zone hitting. it just isn't very clear in the manual.

From the extensive testing i've done, everything leads me to believe Classic Hitting is a definite variation of zone hitting. Its not zone hitting in the pure sense, but you can hit homeruns by using the left thumbstick in any direction.

I've hit opposite field homeruns aiming low and away and homeruns down the line aiming low and inside. So it does happen. It seems like it really depends on the type of contact you make by timing it dead on.
