    No MLB 2K12 Info...

We have heard absolutely nothing on 2K12 other than the cover and that they are bringing back the million dollar challenge. This is getting quite ridiculous and I am becoming annoyed. We have no screenshots, nothing about possible new features, nothing. I checked the 2K web site and they released their first video and screenshots on January 7th, and it is the 16 and yet we have nothing. This sure isn't a way to get more customers, which they desperately need.

    Re: No MLB 2K12 Info...

Last year's game was so much fun and really polished with the right sliders and rosters.

Hopefully this isn't a bad sign with no info because they have a really good thing to build off from the previous title. 2K has really improved their baseball games the past two years.

If for some reason this one isn't good, I'm OK with keeping 2K11 and playing that.

      Re: No MLB 2K12 Info...

My guess is we get a few screenshots this week, and either a trailer or features list next week. I guarantee you their schedule planning is a direct function of what SCEA does with marketing their game. Why release info right at the same time as your competition? Wait for the hype for one to die down, then give people a chance to buy into your product.

Plus, they just might not be ready; they might be doing a lot on this game. Or they might not be doing anything, and they're holding back because there hasn't been much improved. I'm certainly hoping on the former, because I wouldn't mind getting this game for PS3 and then maybe just getting The Show on Vita. Would be a nice mix-up of being able to play both games at the best possible value.

Heh, ridiculous non-marketing strategy definitely, but certainly not something to get annoyed about. Unless you're the type to get annoyed by things out of your control. In which case you should probably work on that, otherwise you may just keel over from high blood pressure at the age of 35.

This is what happened with their hockey series, which did seem to signal an apparent end.

Using that theory, this would mean the MLB series should have been over in 2009. This is the SAME Strategy they have used EVERY year. It's a terrible, irritating strategy but they've always done it.

Same thing they've always done. Little premature to speculate the games impending doom.

Quite simply marketing is not 2k's strong suit.

As stated above... I have high hopes for 2K12. But, if not, I'm VERY happy with my 2K11 copy.

If they decide to give up on this title, I suppose I'll live... Would only hope that EA decides to step back into the picture.

                    Re: No MLB 2K12 Info...

Last year MLB2K11 info didn't come out until around the 24th of Jan. So it's possible there waiting for the same timeframe. I'm not too worried, it's just how 2k does things.

Exactly. I'm not sure why people always seem to forget that this time of year.

I think you may have miscomprehended what I was trying to say, but perhaps it was just a bad choice of words. I meant it is irritating or it just makes you think because The Show has already released a ton of info.

""It's a losing proposition and we don't have any interest in pursuing losing propositions."

Quote from the 2K CEO regarding the MLB licensing renewal back in 2010. If this is the mindset upper management has, don't get your hopes up about anything amazing coming from MLB 2K12.

My theory is it will be a slightly tweaked, roster-updated $60 waste of money they still suffers the same flaws the series has had since the three year plan was implemented in 2007 or 2008.
