steal base with auto bsaerunning?

has anyone seen that?
i use auto baserunning with default baserunning sliders, and so far, after many many games, i havent seen any of my baserunners try a steal...i evan played with ichiro, reyes and pierre, but nothing...

They were rare. I had to switch to classic baserunning to do it myself.

Does the stealing aggressiveness slider affect this? Has anybody tried to put it at max to see the effect?

Uhm i see..
but u thing the cpu sliders affect it like nemesis asked?
i suck at manual baserunning...evan classic...
and i aways get the feeling that my baserunners take strange routes when on manual..while in auto they round the bases perfectly.
ill give a try with the baserunning sliders at 20 to see what happens...i hope they work.

Let us know what happens. I have noticed this too. The CPU is much more aggressive with stealing than my players (Rockies). I have Willy Tavares and Kaz Matsui who are both basestealers but hardly run. I have not touched the CPU slider for base stealing. I also use autobaserunning.

i tested 2 games with the dodgers and evan with slider maxed pierre and furcal didnt run once. notice that tehy got on base several times, and i was very patient at the plate when they were on.

back to assisted classic baserunning.

What happens if you edit your players. Try one and max it out and see if that helps. Only giving suggestions.

How about try playing against the Dodgers and walk Pierre and Furcal and see what happens.

thats what i tried...
neither furcal or pierre tried to steal in 2 games i played...they got on bsae very often..

I'd love to have the option to send the runners with auto baserunning on.

I'm terrible with the controls on classic and regular baserunning. My guys never took extra bases and routinely got thrown out on plays they shouldn't when I control the runners.

The only player that runs for the Cubs is Izturis (ha!). He gets nailed everytime.


It would be nice to have sort of a manager mode that allows you to select the attributes you wish to control. For example, you control the hitting and pitching and just make the call when you want to steal or hit and run.

I found a solution. What I do is leave auto on. If I get a guy on 1b that I want to steal, I pause the game and switch to assisted. I steal, then switch back to auto. Only takes a few seconds. Its a work around and now I can score some runs without ending up with 2 guys on the same base.

I have played 6 games (and simulated another 6) with my Marlins franchise on auto base running and I had only 1 steal attempt (with success) from my team. Florida is not a fast team so that is not a big problem, but i'm also seeing that the CPU is not trying to steal on me either, also only had 1 steal attempt against me. Are you guys having enough steal attempts against you by the CPU?
