Best Batting View to Read Pitches?

    Another 'batting view' post;

had been playing catcher view for so long now but suddenly tried the outfield view. Im not sure, but it seems it might be the better view to read and react to pitches more effectively? What's all your opinions about batting view? What do u use? Tried offset a bit, but didn't like it.

Offset has what I would describe as a cult following. I don't care for it, though.

Catcher seems to work best for me. I played on Wide for a while, but it's almost like looking through a lens or something; the pitcher appears smaller to me and it's almost like the ball is traveling from small to large.
Quit making your stupid YouTube videos and start playing the game.

Yeah. Not a big fan of offset. I played with "wide" the whole season last year and loved it. This year, however, I want to try to get better on "catcher" view. Last year, I did have better success at hitting using wide since I believe it game me more time to read the pitches.

To me, the "catcher" view looks really nice when up to bat. I don't know about the outfiled cam but was wondering if that would make reading the pitches a little bit better. My only concern is how the "L" stick works with this view. Is it reversed or do you still move the stick where the pitch is at. Im curious to see what the answer is from those who use the "outfield" or "pitcher" view when hitting.

I'm warming to the OF view as I like the broadcast feel of it and you get a nice look at the break, IMO.

Also, this is the best way to see if your creayed players and edited players have the right batting stance. So two birds with one stone there.

I might give this view a shot. But any idea on how the L stick works on this view? Is it reversed or the same as if you are batting with the catcher view (aim the stick where the ball goes?)

It is reversed and it feels better to be honest. I really don't use it much, choosing mostly to go with 1/6 guess pitch, look for a ball in a zone and use timing to hit my pitch if I get it. Then once I get to two strikes I'll use the L stick to go with a tough pitch down or on the outer half.

Oh wait, I didn't read your post quite right. From the OF view you would pull the L stick left (batting left handed) to pull an inside pitch and right to hit an outside pitch the other way. Vice versa if you're hitting right handed.

Make sense? Sorry for the confusion.

I think i got it. So you basically just move the stick to where the ball is, regardless of your view.

                  i believe this is correct.

with catcher view, or wide view I just can't seem to read the pitches that well until it's too late. But i think with pitcher or outfield view it seems a little easier. I'm gonna have to test this out more to confirm.

I use high view, works well for me. Catcher is too low and wide, the picture is too stretched.

I use the outfield camera. This may not be the natural position to play baseball but I really dig the broadcast style. It also has good views of breaking pitches as someone explained above.

                        Regular Catcher view for me.
I've tried offset, and wide, didn't care for them much.

I was using Catcher view, but noticed that right before the pitch you can notice the dirt kick up from where the catcher is moving to. It was tipping off location for me, and I kinda felt like I was cheating.

I use catcher as well. I really think it all depends on what you get used to playing on.
