    Waiver explanation please?

Here is the deal.....I traded for Dontre Willis (please don't ask me why..I really don't have a solid explanation Just becuase I guess...) When I traded for hm - the pitcher I traded to get him for was due next up in the rotation but apparently Dontre must have just pitched as well because his stamina was next to nothing. So to give him some rest and not screw up my rotation - I was going to send him to AAA and bring up one of my starters down there for one start. When I tried to make this move - it gave me a message to the effect of "I can't move Donte down to AAA with putting him on waivers." (I 'm paraphrasing)

My question...how was I suposed to know this BEFORE I traded for him? Is there a way in the game I can know ahead of time? Any info would greatly be appreciated.

He has no minor league options left. You can see how many any player has by going to the "Manage Roster" screen and scrolling to the right.

Yep. Before making the trade, go into the roster screen and look and see if he has any options. An option is what allows you to move him up and down between the majors and minors without going through waivers. There is also an explanation of all the terms in the game.
