I swear that either the '06, '07 or '08 games...at least one of them, enabled you to change your roster control off/on AFTER you already started your franchise.

Am I right on this?

I'm asking this because I remember in one of these past games, I kept the roster control on (still had injuries), and the DAY BEFORE the trading deadline, I would turn the roster control off, so the other teams could possibly make that last minute deal.

To be honest, I think it was 07 (not 100% sure). I remember because that was the first year I got my ps3. That game was perhaps the worst in regards to CPU trading logic so I used to turn control off only in July so teams can have 4 weeks to make deals (in which they still went hay wire..lol). I always turn off trades for the CPU until a week or 2 before the deadline. Well, at least I used to.

To my knowledge, none of them have allowed you to do this. I've owned every copy, and it's always been a pet peeve of mine.
