How do you steal 2nd base?

Assuming the fact that there is no practice mode for training base stealing I would like to ask experienced gamers: how do you steal 2nd base?

Lets say I have runner on first base, what am I supposed to do?
Left analog stick to left to highlight runner on 1 st base, then L1 and square? And whats next? Will he steal it automatically after strike? ball? I dont have to swing? What I have to do at bat to make runner on 1st start to run to 2nd?

Really?, but I need the same view as from playing a season. It means I am on bat facing a pitcher. Once I tried RTTS fielding practice but it was from outfielders view which I dont want,...

If you want the runner to steal second press L2 he'll automatically make a run for it, this works only if you have one runner on base. If you have more than one runner on base that's when you use the analog stick then press the button to the corresponding base you want him to steal or just hit L2 once selected.

Last year in 09 when I had runners on 1st and 2nd I would just press L2 and they both will run w/o choosing witch one i wanted to move. This year in 10 i tried the same but only my runner on 1st moved and the one on 2nd stayed put. So i had the select each one with analog then hit L2, and walla they both went.
