Is this a bug or really Russell Martin wears J Martin behind his jersey??!

He uses the J on his jersey because Jeanson is his moms maiden name and also one of his middle names. He does it to honor his mom, so no, not a bug.

He used to use it, but has since started using just "Martin" on his jersey. Just noticed while watching the PIT/LAD game last night.

Well that is strange because when I watched The Cubs/Pirates he had J Martin on his jersey.

What game did you watch? Because on 4/3 and 4/4 he did not have "J" Martin on his jersey, it just said Martin! I am not sure about opening day as I couldn't find a picture of it, but I found pictures of him, against the Cubs, on 4/3 and 4/4 and he did not have J on his jersey!

He definitely just had Martin (no J) on his back vs the Dodgers...maybe it's a home vs away thing?

Maybe I got MLB the show confused with real life? I watched all the Cubs and Pirates games but I was thinking about opening day when I saw it. But I probably mixed up real baseball with video game baseball haha I'm going to go on mlb.tv and check out opening day and then I'll report back
