I would say that I max out about 70% of the time. Always with 3 balls.

Personally something I have had more success with (I just started a Rays franchise) is if I'm trying to paint a corner I may not max out effectiveness. Because I'm going for placement I want a more forgiving miss if I don't it the meter. If I'm using breaking balls or even when I'm going for a swing and miss I'll max out the meter. Obviously that means if I don't hit the return right I could leave one hanging. Not maxing out also helps me on scenarios when I am trying to endure a DP. Does it always work? No not at all but so far I'm 8 games in and my numbers of walks are in line, while also reducing hits and getting more strikeouts and DPs. Hopefully that makes some sense and helps a little bit

I say this non-sarcastically, but practice practice practice. Literally, go into practice mode and practice.

I've been practicing little you said and I see so improvements but I was wondering where do you start your cursor for directional and does it change if your deep in the count behind in the count ect

If you're using directional hitting you don't actually move the cursor. The "cursor" essentially acts as what type of hit your are trying to get. Example of you have the direction pointed down you are trying for a grounder or line drive (opposite if pointed up) and then trying to pull if holding left and visa versa. There is actually a good guide solely devoted to directional hitting on operation sports that has helped me: forums.operationsports.com/forums/mlb-show/907904-directional-hitting-guide.html

Is it 100%? No. Ball placement still has a lot to do with it. But for me i have guys in the Rays who have almost no power or a lot of speed so I'll hold down and look for a pitch muddle up and if I can get good contact I have a good chance to get a solid grounder or liner that leads to a hit
