Stealing

When you have multiple men in base, how do you choose to steal just one base? I’m using button base running and had men on 1st and 3rd and wanted just the guy on first to steal. I’m on PS4 so I hit O and tap L2 and both guys take off and the guy on 3rd is thrown out stealing home

I push the left stick to the right and tap L2.

This is the correct answer. For example, if you have men on first and third and want the runner on first to steal second, point the left stick towards first base (right) and press L2 while holding the left stick that direction. The runner on first will take off and the runner on third will get a normal secondary lead.

Does the left stick work if you’re using button controls for base running?

You have to HOLD the left stick to the player on first for longer than just pointing it. Looking at the runner window, the small arrow will turn blue... Couldn't figure this out until like the 4th time sending both by just doing it quick.

You don't have to hold the left stick. Tapping L2 twice will make them steal regardless.

If there is more than one person on base, then everyone will steal if you're not holding the left stick when hitting L2.

Turns out I was having a timing issue, I was hitting L2 and selecting the base at the same time which made everyone steal instead of selecting the base and then hitting L2

I should have clarified. If you hold the left stick to the according baserunner WHILE tapping L2 twice, only that baserunner will steal. For some reason, sometimes if I only tap L2 just once, that baserunner won't go. If there's only one runner on, you don't need to use the left stick at all.
