Re: Is Picking Off The Computer Even Possible?
Nope. I played an entire season in my franchise and never even had the CPU slide back into first. He always was in standing up. The run game needs a serious overhaul. -

I second these, never seen cpu take a lead every throw to 1st cpu just walks back to 1st :/Comment

Re: Is Picking Off The Computer Even Possible?
I've picked the cpu off once. When I threw over he didn't react and when he tried I tagged him out. Only time I've done it.
The cat and mouse of the run game is sadly missing from this game.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Is Picking Off The Computer Even Possible?
Exactly where I am on this too. Don't even bother.
To lower the stealing chance I'll do a slide step with my pitcher occasionally, but I usually just throw a heater on the second pitch which is where they usually start running.
Not sure why they can't fix this with an update.Comment

Re: Is Picking Off The Computer Even Possible?
Picked off the CPU a few times, maybe 3-4 maybe 5 times but most of the time it goes into the stands...its like every pitcher turns into Jon Lester on pickoffs...Comment

Re: Is Picking Off The Computer Even Possible?
3-4 times would be fairly realistic. Boston only had 4 all year last year. I'd have to say I'm a little skeptical since I was never even been remotely close in 163 games. Do you have any box scores where this happened?Comment

Re: Is Picking Off The Computer Even Possible?
I had one on a catcher snap throw, though it happened on a glitch. The runner just slowly walked to second after the pitch, I ran up to tag the runner, but it didn't register, and for some reason he sprinted to second where I threw him out. Weirdest play I've ever had in the ShowComment

Re: Is Picking Off The Computer Even Possible?
I do the double-tap safe throw a lot to hold runners. Basically, it affects their steal ability rating when you throw over there - they get slower jumps. I have never actually picked anyone off this way though that is also not my goal. I also do not do the single-tap throw over as that is the one that gets thrown over the 1B's head about 15% of the time.Comment
