btw.. if you time your swing perfectly, you cant crush a foul ball.... hahaha jks

You can on The Show! Or what usually happens is you foul tip it strajght back. It will even tell you "good timing."

My problem is that they have completely removed the user skill from hitting in order to achieve realistic results every time. There is something in their logic/calculator that lets them arbitrarily create a result (ie pop out to the catcher) based on what would likely happen in real life according to each players rating.

I dont understand why "BB/9" is one of the most important attributes in regards to a pitcher's overall. This is an attribute that a simulation would need to know. Its like if a batter had a HR, a Double, and a Triple attribute as well as a power attribute, but those attributes severely trumped their power attribute. The fact that you can have a 90's rated pitcher that strikes batters out with a slider that has a 0 for velocity, control, and break kind of proves that everything is random if you think about it doesent it?

Shouldnt their VEL, CONTROL, and BREAK determine their BB/, H/9, HR/9, and K/9? You cant separate a pitcher's stuff from the results he would get, they are almost entirely independent of each other. I could understand there being a 5%-10% that is random or arbitrary to account for intangibles but....

Re: Body Type Affects Overall Rating?

i definately agree with you there... what troubles me is the fact that i always struggle to pitch well with high rated pitchers... but am succesfull with "****ty" pitchers... go figure

also, since the last patch i cant hit to save my life... last 5 games i scored 3 runs and no more than 5 hits a game... all against pitchers over 5 era..
cant hit a changeup, whether its in the strike zone or out, whether im eraly or if i DO time it, it goes through my bat.... and fastball i swing when the ball is in the catchers glove... im in a big funk all the sudden (been playing the show since 2009) i dont get it but im riding it out...

Re: Body Type Affects Overall Rating?

I always have thought of the /9 as a pitcher knowing how to pitch. Versus his pitches as his stuff. A pitcher might not have great stuff but he knows how to mix it well and when to throw what pitches.
