I recently was exposed to MVP Level fielding and was pleased to learn that Manual fielding is really more CPU driven than anything else...meanwhile with your Fielding setting on MVP it is now up to you to make playe..The biggest difference is now instead of those one or two HR's always being the deciding factor in games there is nopw a Bigger and better variety of hits...singles, doubles etc.
The thing with Manual fielding that I do not like is that the CPU makes the 1st "INITIAL" move on the ball for you so you are not really making the play..The CPU is doing it for you...On MVP it is now up to you to make the play...If you ever noticed that on manual those screaming liners fown the line often get picked off by the 1st or 3rd baseman...Now thats all different on MVP because they will now only get picked off if you make the play.
IMO MVP makes for a more realistic enjoyable game...Its IMO the perfect balance of CPU and human control and instead of the boring 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 games over and over and over I've now seen a bigger diversity in hits and scoring..Don't get me wrong I still see the 1-0, 2-1 games but I'm now seeing better gameplay because the CPU is not making all of the plays for my opponent.
All too often in this game when you get down by 2 or 3 runs its just about over unless you can get a few HR's but with the game on MVP those teams that excell at small ball have a better chance at staying in the game and making comebacks.
I highly recommend people to test this out...keep in mind I'm specifically talking about "MVP FIELDING" and not MVP Level..I like MVP level too but MVP Fielding is a specific fielding setting that will IMO change the complexion of the game. Good luck and please report your findings.
The biggest knock on MVP fielding will be that you will see balls coming that you are used to the CPU reacting to so early on they will get thru your infield..But this is only temporary because once you start becoming accustomed to making the plays on your own those plays will be routine ground outs...Those who rely on the CPU to make plays likely will not enjoy MVP fielding..But IMO I hate to play a CPU driven game.
Kuodos to EA for finally finding the perfect balance of CPU and human control
