How do you avoid the CPU screwing your rosters up?
Does anyone know if you can prevent the CPU from screwing your rosters up in spring training every year? I don't know why the game does this but it's starting to piss me off and im getting tired of spending an hour every single season fixing my roster back to the way I had it before the CPU messed it all up. Is there anyway to avoid this?Tags: None -

Ok, Then how do you prevent them from "changing" your rosters? I don't really care why the CPU does it, Im just tired of spending an hour every season fixing the "change". I wouldn't have a problem with it if the CPU fixed my rosters back to the way I had them after spring training is over but they don't so my whole Major league team consists of minor league players when the regular season starts.Originally posted by Longhorn6They actually don't mess it up. Re: How do you avoid the CPU screwing your rosters up?
Im not exaggerating, I not only have to fix my roster but I also have to determine what players the CPU released and what players the CPU signed which takes awhile because sometime I don't realize that there is a player missing from my roster or a player on my roster that I didn't sign in the offseason.Originally posted by Longhorn6It's never taken me a half hour, so I'm hoping you're exaggerating, and you can't prevent it from happening.Comment

You can't really prevent it from happening, but there's an easier way to fix it most of the way so that you don't have to do many moves by hand.
After the progression screen, go to the manage roster menu and choose positional rankings. There, you can rank all your players on an organization-wide depth chart. Finish all 8 positions and the DH the way you want it, and choose CPU Optimize Rosters. It will use your rankings to set the rosters, and they should end up very close to what you want (though you'll probably have to fiddle with the pitchers and the batting order some anyway).Comment

I was wondering what the positional ranking thing actually did. The manual for this game is useless when trying to find info like this. Thanks Justin.Originally posted by JustinMYou can't really prevent it from happening, but there's an easier way to fix it most of the way so that you don't have to do many moves by hand.

Re: How do you avoid the CPU screwing your rosters up?
This has never happened unless you do something like Auto-Select lineup, which puts all the young minor leaguers in for spring training. Otherwise sometimes its a result of how you sign rookies/free-agents and resign/release your players, since if you were to offer someone a minor league contract, but the roster was currently full at that level, they would go to MLB if you had a space.Originally posted by Longhorn6They actually don't mess it up. Wow, I never had an idea the CPU used your rankings to optimize the roster. This is a huge find. Did anyone else know this?Originally posted by JustinMYou can't really prevent it from happening, but there's an easier way to fix it most of the way so that you don't have to do many moves by hand.

Re: How do you avoid the CPU screwing your rosters up?
I am having a problem with the cpu screwing up cpu controlled teams rosters during the season. AA and A prospects called up way to soon. To me the biggest screwup is the cpu will take 8 or 9 sp in the minors and make them mr's in aaa and aa and leave rp the sp's in a. Anyone know the best way to deal with thisOriginally posted by Kohlstar20Does anyone know if you can prevent the CPU from screwing your rosters up in spring training every year? To avoid this you must trim your roster down to 95 guys in all 4 leagues put together. If you have more the CPU will trim it down and in the process screw with your lineup.Originally posted by Kohlstar20Does anyone know if you can prevent the CPU from screwing your rosters up in spring training every year?
