Question about the pitching meter... last year & this year

I played MVP only a few times last year, but I have a question about the meter. This is an excerpt from the Team Xbox review:

    </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
Holding in the appropriate pitch button will cause the pitching meter to fill; the longer it is held in the more power that is generated. The button must then be released in the green accuracy zone for the best result. If the button is released outside of the green zone, the result is usually a pitch that belongs in batting practice.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Now I may have been doing this wrong last year or just remembering wrong, but I thought what you did was:
    1. Press your pitch button. X, for example...
    2. Release it at the end of the meter (I think it was red)...
    3. Press it again in the green zone.

But the review sounds like it's saying you press, hold it all the way through, THEN release it in the green zone. Did they change it, or was this how it was done last year?

Anyone who has advanced knowledge of the pitching meter, I appreciate any clarification you can add.

It's the same way it was last year, they just added different tweaks to it this year, namely granularity within the green zone (meaning that if you don't stop the marker right in the middle of the green zone, the pitch won't go exactly where you want it to)

Right. I know it's rather the same this year, but I'm asking about the button presses on the meter in relation to what the reviewer said.

You do raise a good point. I didn't even notice that. I guess we'll know for sure in a few hours (or less).

Me, personally, I hit the button 3 times. One to start it, one to stop it in green, and 1 to stop it on the return swing.

My friend would hit it once, hold it in, let go in green, and hit it again on the return swing (2 button presses).

I am not sure which is more successful, but if you hold it in and do 2 button presses it seems you may be able to get a little more velocity.
