Watching ESPN and they're showing clips of Steph in the finals. One shot I see ALL the time in the NBA is getting your man in the air and side stepping for a clean look.
Not everyone should be able to do it, but especially for corner 3s I would love to see this.
If I'm not mistaken it is POSSIBLE to perform the move. Pump fake with square, hold the stick to the side while holding square then release. The problem is that with Intimidator, even if your man is falling out of bounds behind you their AOE will make you brick. This is also considered an "off the dribble" shot so that means you'd probably have to have Circus 3s and a 90 plus rating to hit this consistently.
Honestly, I think shooters in the NBA don't care if they're "off the dribble" anymore. I've discussed previously that a "pull up" jumper shouldn't have to be a LEANING shot. How many times does Steph and other shooters dribble the ball up in transition and just raise up when they get to the line?
Kevin Durant, Kyrie, Dame, Bradley Beal, Tatum... I've seen them all do this.
I think if you can shoot, you can shoot. Regardless of situation, leaning, fading, standing... There shouldn't be SUCH a distinction between these shots.
