    Walking routes when calling plays

    Hello there,

I am experiencing some weird problems calling plays and maybe some of you guys having an idea how to solve this..(English is not my first language, I hope you get my point though)

I play current gen 5vs5 game modes, like e.g. OnlineLeagues and have a quite a few plays collected in my playbook (3 point plays, pick´n roll plays, well known money-plays whatever).

However, whenever I call a play, e.g. a 3 point play, my player doesnt run the designated route to the three point line, but runs to the midrange area or even sometimes curls behind a screen and run towards the basket. I test the plays in the practice mode and they work usually fine, but ingame they are many times messed up.

Of course ingame I tend to move around a bit more the the ballhandler before I throw the pass, unlike in practice mode where you mostly dribble stationary. But even in practice mode/scrimmage I try to simulate my pg movement, and the plays still work fine but in an actual game its messed up.

Anyone experiencing the same and/or having an idea what causes this or how to solve it?

Re: Walking routes when calling plays

Video would help, but what it sounds like you are describing isn't a bug but players reacting intelligently to the situation. Many plays have options and branch points. In particular there are quite a few 3 point plays where the guy the play is designed for can run thru different screens and sometimes practice mode isn't great at getting that across. Last year I remember one play where the 4 sets a pindown screen for 2, but 2 also had the option to instead go baseline the opposite side of the court and come off a double screen. Could be something like that.

Most likely what is happening is the guy receiving the screen is reacting to how the off-ball defender is playing the screen. If he goes over the top then many times the would-be shooter instead of running to the 3 point line will dive towards the basket

Thanks for help, but I´ve found my mistake...

"Icon Lead passing" was turned on, which inevitably lead to this stupid turnovers of mine.

      Sorry to bother!
