Why are the players so dumb?

I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the stupidity of some of the players in this game. When I try to run a handoff play the person who receives the ball just runs backwards out of my control and over the backcourt line...

Post players just stand there and let their opponent walk around them for offensive rebounds

Sometimes if both players guard their man perfectly on a pick and roll there is some absurd switch that takes place between the guy guarding the screener and the guy guarding someone deep in the opposite corner..the screen didn't work, WHY ARE WE SWITCHING WE RECOVERED FINE

When I have a big running the floor on the fast break, he's making a perfect run right to the rim as he should be doing, but then as soon as a press pass he drifts to the short corner/wing and ruins the break.

If you have a step on someone, or let's say you get an offensive rebound and there's no one between you and the basket, if you try to go back up with it they wait for the contact and many times miss the layup that should've been an easy MAYBE slightly contested layup..why???

I had Jabari Parker guarding kevin love in the double double my team challenge and those two were on one side of the court where NO ONE ELSE was and whoever the pg was drove to the basket towards Parker, AND PARKER WENT TO GUARD THE INVISIBLE MAN IN THE CORNER BEHIND HIM. Leaving kevin love open for an easy dish and dunk.

Why are the players acting as if they don't know the game sometimes?

I feel your pain. All of these are also things that drive me nuts.

Add in the instances where wing players crash/cut to the hoop instead of standing at the 3PT line when the defense helps. Ugh...right up there with the bigs who fade/wander/slide out to the 3PT line. Bass ackwards, as they say.

Some of these have honestly been issues in 2K games for close to half a decade or more now.

Honestly, I think some of them exist to cover up for some other issues/problems in the game. Like the DELAY that guys take after an offensive rebound or dish to them under the hoop is there because if it wasn't, players would just turbo to the paint and dish to a big man for a dunk every single time.

Instead of nuking TURBO like they should, they go the opposite direction and nuke paint layups. The result is a crazy amount of missed layups and REAL basketball plays that result in misses...all because they REFUSE to nuke the TURBO.

All because if they nuked turbo, 80% of the cheesers who play this game would CRY and not have a single clue how to get open and make plays in other ways.

I agreed. Sometimes players didn't even try to grab the ball EVEN when the ball is right in front of them or at their reach. It's as if they're waiting for the dude who missed the shot to recover before they can react to the ball. This game has flaw.

I agreed. There are times player stop when they should have moved toward the basket for a fastbreak. Or rather they run toward the side instead of toward the basket. And the fatigue in this game is ridiculous online. Player is wide open and still missed the dunk because apparently it takes too long for him to dunk the ball. Compare this to the real world, this game is a joke...no player take that long to dunk even if they're fatigue. Here's another example, player A rebound the ball and has a free run toward the basket...but because he's so slow and tired...you can't even move his body toward the basket ...so basically forget about dunking. No matter how tired you are....in the real world, players do not behave like that.

Not only that....there are some stupid things i seen in the game such as passing off the backboard, icon pass catching the ball resulting in backcourt violation (this is the same thing that STILL EXIST since 2k7 lol. You figure by now they'll fix this thing....and remember that football pass the had a player pretend to catch it and then step out of bound from last year? Yep...it's still there lol. I don't think they will ever fix it....it's like it's part of their game engine and unless they completely revamped the engine (which they will never do because they want to play it safe), this game will continue to plague with flaws.
