Patch 2 MyLeague sim stats testing!

Figured since most of the talk in the patch thread was about pro am, MyLeague guys could gather here and discuss the sim stats tinkering they did.

I recently took the liberty of simming a full season with 12 min quarters, here's the results...

Here's the league PPG leaders, not TOO high numbers but still, I scrolled down a bit and their are 24 teams with 100+ PPG.. Take hat as you will

Points in the paint are still entirely too low for the top teams. It's funny, we get too many pip when playing games, and not enough with simming. This has been a bad thing in the series for a long time now

PPG leaders don't look bad, in fact they seem improved. Not 3-4 players averaging 29 or more, Durant leading with 28 seems right. Brook Lopez and Paul George round out the top ten with 21.9 PPG.

19 guys averaged 10 or more rpg.. Top of the list looks good.

I have no beef with the assists numbers. Could use a few more guys with 10??

Lots of guys averaging 2 steals a game

What I got from this screenshot is Anthony Davis is a damn manimal. 13 guys with 2+ blocks per game. Lebron is 13th with 2 BPG

Report back here with your findings guys! Let's show 2K what could be tuned even more.

From what I've seen, individual player stats have improved, as you've pointed out, however team stats are still a bit of an issue (PPG and PIP).

Assists & steals still need tweaking (Wall & Leonard missing from top 8).. Fortunately, blocks may have been boosted slightly.

Re: Patch 2 MyLeague sim stats testing!

I haven't done any full season sims, however I have noticed that scores tend to be on the high side when using SimCast Live. I was wondering if raising the difficulty on the sim slider or perhaps setting each coaches Tempo to Patient would help alleviate that? If it's the latter, then what effect would that have on games actually played?

How are the contracts? Are players like Hibbert still signing for 4 mil per year?

I don't think the sim slider method works (I remember trying last year) but the tempo method is how you get realistic numbers. Just a note, not every team needs to be set on patient. Some teams with higher tempos are good to have.

Re: Patch 2 MyLeague sim stats testing!

I made this post in the MyGM wishlist about assist being too high

Simstats are great only minor issue is assist are too high for some guys I have Goatbrook averaging 23.2/8.2/10.5 and Dame averaging 30.7/4.9/10.2 and Brandon Jennings 21.2/3.8/10/3. The parentheses meaning how their minutes changed Goatbrook(1.7), Dame(3.0), MCW(-2.6), Brandon Jennings(2.2), George Hill(3.2), Mike Conley(3.1), Kyle Lowry(-0.5), *Darren Collison(-6.6), *Trey Burke(-3.9), Reggie Jackson(-2.1), Brandon Knight(-1.3), Kemba Walker(1.5), Victor Oladipo(-10.0), Dwade(1.9), Bradley Beal(-1.8), Rodney Stuckey(0.6), Eric Gordon(-6.3), Orange Juice(2.2), Monte(-4.4) Demar(-1.8), J.R Smith(-4.2), Kevin Durant(3.6), Rudy Gay(-3.8), Joe Johnson(-4.8) Corey Brewer(-0.5), Jared Sullinger(-1.8), Chris Bosh(-2.2), Marc Gasol(0.5), Bogut(4.2). All those players either set career highs or had a pretty major boost from 14-15 to 15-16.

SimCast Live uses the gameplay engine, so any adjustments you make to the gameplay sliders affect SimCast Live as well. It's just a different way of seeing and experiencing the gameplay engine. Regular SimCast uses the simulator engine.

Maybe you don't know that tweaking the sim stats to make it more realistic touches the game play dramatically because you have to change ratings and tendencies..... Good luck to us, how an amazing game have been ruined

wow teams PPG looks way to high 24 teams with a average of 100 or higher. I think over the last 10 years there have been like 10-15 teams a year at 100 or higher. The PIP a game is really low in that screen shoot you posted the highest was 33.6. I think the highest in the NBA last year was grizzles at like 56 a game and I think the lowest was like 34 or something with the average being like 40 a game. With PPG being so high how does over all FG% look? Also with PIP being so low are teams shooting a lot more 3's and making a lot more 3's then teams do in real life? I would say 2k didn't really do to good of a job with sim stats in the patch.

Individual stats look better, but the numbers are still inflated in terms of rebounds, steals and blocks. So I'd guess it's all related to the tempo. The game is great on the court and I'm itching to start a new MyGM but those little and not so little things (simulated stats, lowered contracts, sweat effects) are still holding me back.

I think you're testing is incomplete. A very important factor in Sim Stats is Coaching Style and Tempo. A better way to test Team Sim Stats are to take 1 team (i.e. Toronto Raptors) and see what they're stats are with a Patient Offense. Then start the mode over and see where the stats are with Avg tempo, shoot at will, no preference etc.

Try them as a team that Gets Shooters Open, PnR, Feed the Post. If every team is set to average or shoot at will your test results can't be conclusive of anything other than if every NBA team played uptempo they'd score a lot.

I would test this myself but we don't have the patch yet
