MyPlayer Keeps Throwing the Ball In The Air

I've been having this horrible problem with myplayer on the Xbox 1. When I'm in the park, and someone throws me the inbound pass, myplayer immediately tries to shoot the ball. In other words, soon as I'm givin the inbound pass to take the ball up court, instead of running up court, myplayer shoots the ball instead. The only thing I do is hold the left stick along with RT, sometimes just the left stick, yet myplayer decides to shoot the ball instead of running up the court. I'm using the newer version Xbox controller by the way which works perfect in 2k16. Can anyone help me out with this terrible problem .Thanks.

Is your pro stick on shooting in your controller settings? If not then it could be either your X button or your right analog stick are having issues.. As they are the two that control shooting.

I'll check this right now. It's a brand new controller btw, the newer version. I truly hope it's not corrupted. :/

Thanks X_NBA_X for the good tip. Everything is working now! Just played a game and now when I'm given the inbound pass myplayer no longer tries to shoot the ball! What I had to do is check my xbox controller settings, some of the buttons were mapped wrong. I set everything back to default. Also, in controller settings for 2K17 I set the pro stick to dribble.

All this time my settings were messed up, I kept thinking it was maybe me doing something wrong. Thanks again!
