Audio blog this year?

I still thank them for the nets sounds. They where miles better in 2K17, that was a big step in the right direction. Shame they went overboard and straight up lied to us with their audio trailer.

Haha - plus, flying around the country to record different ball sounds really seems like a waste of resources.

Hopefully this year they stayed at home, cranked up the volume and took notes down about atmosphere, crowd noises, behavior etc. etc.

I'd like to believe that they just didn't have time to actually put the sound authenticity in the game. 2k17 was a rush job.

Maybe they will surprise us this year.....I really believe that they captured all the sounds of each arena. Again they just didn't have the time to do it.

It's one of the two; either it is a budget thing or it's leverage over the competition. I'm talking about the total negligence of the auditorial aspect of the game. Either way, I wouldn't be looking forward for a quick fix. What I would expect (with the emergence of competition this year) is for 2K to hire professionals who'd capture IN-GAME SOUNDS and I mean IN-GAME. MAKE ME FEEL I'm playing these super amazing models in front of 20,000 people not in front of 40 people.

Oh and since we're about to enter the 3rd decade of the 21st century, it's time for dynamic AI to be applied on commentating. Incorporate random (non-previously captured) laughing, coughing, burping, random mistakes, random conversations and some out of the ordinary enthusiasm when people soak the gravity out of the building or put up crazy stats.

The crowd aspect is a huge thing for me this year. In past years, I was able to ignore it, but with the emergence of Live, it's inexcusable for 2K to put forth the same, dead-crowd effort.

Live's atmosphere in the demo is good. I expect 2K to up its game, as it seems to be doing everywhere else.

Always been curious about this...why does all of 2k's audio sound fake?
Live has actual audio of things you would hear in a broadcast, I'm talking mostly about PA. And 2k's sounds lab created. Hard to describe but anyone who has played both knows what I speak of.

Anyhow, why is it that way, copyright business or something? It's always been that way even back to 2010.

I'm not sure but NBA 2K8 and CH2K8 had a lot better audio in terms of fans, arena music especially a lot of arena music i remember, rim sounds, ball sounds i don't know 10 years later...
