    Has dribbling become more unresponsive?

So I have always been a very good ball handler in these games and even made a dope video for 2k17 (BQ PRODUCTIONS). Now this year we all know that the walking size up animations are the bane of existence for any "dribble god" out there and has certainly plagued me from the beginning. However I spent a considerable amount of time both mastering effective moves out of those animations and different methods of quickly coming to stops so I could transition into the normal sizeups.

I put a lot of time into the game both preparing for and during the 2k league tryouts so when that was over and ultimately did not make it I needed a break from the game. In the meantime I purchased X and bought 2k on the cheap. I decided to make an uncle drew character just to have fun and not take it so seriously this time. Now though I am finding it extremely difficult to do on command what I want. There often seems to be a delay when playing pro-am. If I come to a stop and a defender is touching, the game many times won't allow for even a simple between the legs or behind the back cross so I have difficulty initiating. Also I am finding it much harder to get into the normal size ups now and it seems those pesky walking size ups just want to trigger more frequently. I feel like I have completely lost my dribble god skills.

It is even more frustrating because I like to make the early pass and the right play as a true point guard so I really have to pick and chose my opportunities to put the defense on skates and pull off some flashy stuff. I'm finding this nearly impossible now and other players I have seen doing a lot of dribble moves seemingly are holding the ball forever to get anything off which is frustrating for everyone else playing.

I don't know if it is a new game update in my time away nerfing dribble mechanics a bit or if it is the change from playing on the PS4 Pro to now playing on the X. Anyone else experiencing this?

yep dribbling sucks this year they made it more unresponsive and didn't make the game any less cheesy. Good job 2k.

I still like the game but this was a stupid way to go about fixing dribbling.

Yeah when a defender is touching you dribbling reduces to just a handful of 2 man animations.

The dribbling is noticeably more slugish upon release. I've been sick with the sticks since 2k6 and live 03 and this is one of the worst dribbling systems.

I'm pretty sure what happened is park guys spammed a few moves, other park guys couldn't play defense on anyone but especially not on the spammers, so people complained and in typical fashion the response was to nerf the mechanic to hell
      ... But hey VC sale!!

These days there’s only two ways to get by a defender in this game. Everything else is hockey slides. Feels like dribbling from 2K11.

Whatever "fixes" they tried to do with dribbling can be completely undone by equipping the "Pro 3" size up package. This will literally break your standing size up(left right on right stick while stationary) to where he doesn't even put the ball on the floor while switching hands. It's so glitchy because it effects all of your dribbles. You get a responsiveness that is not comparable with any other arrangements of dribble moves.

We really need to stop having certain animations dictate how this game is played online. From money jumpers to unguardable glitch dribbles, there needs to be a better balance. By opening up dribbling responsiveness across the board would go a long way.

It has gotten worse. 18's dribbling system is awful. Even with PRO 3 there's a delay especially when trying to do a simple step back. Definitely the better option to choose from though. I doubt if we get any type of update to fix it so it's something that the community will have to deal with until 2k19 drops. I pray they get it right next year.

The branching between dribbles does need to be improved. The delays slow things up too much. I know this was a effort by 2K to approach spamming dribbles but people still have found ways to abuse dribbling.
