NBA 2K19 Official Player Lock Thread

Got back home from the NW about 10:00 EST and finished my 1st game maybe 30 mins ago. I’m playing on All Star but only 6 min qtrs since I’ve been on planes seemingly all day.

DEN at NO (me) locked onto the PG position.

We trailed by as much as 12 but came back to win by 1. Felt like the Jokic vs Davis show. Felt really good.

Finally feel like I could get to the hoop without some elaborate set of button presses too. That’s a plus for me.

I am with you as this has been the only way I have been playing since 2011.

2nd game done. Really digging this one on All Star. Taking my time to use directional passing where I’d previously used icon passing.

LAL had as much as a 13 pt lead but we managed to close the gap a bit. Needless to say, LeBron did what LeBron does.

Am I the only one using custom sliders to prevent my teammates from playing utterly terrible defense (from lack of contests to staying in front)?

I love playing this way! I can’t play until Tuesday. Is there any realistic sliders out yet? I used Eccentric’s last season with advanced rotations.

MIN Timberwolves (me) @ HOU Rockets

Game 3 done on All Star. Still 6 min quarters. I took the lead by one after my layup with Teague at around 0:45 followed by a miss that would’ve put us up 3 with 0:30 left. They pulled away after.

Player Lock with the “MyCareer Default” camera is where it’s at for me. I’m in game 1 of my temporary CHI Bulls MyLeague against the PHI 76ers. We trail by 5 at the half and it has been a blast thus far. Kinda afraid of what that might mean for Madden19. Lol

PHL 76ers (me) and the BOS Celtics. This is the way I do My Career without the cringe and micro transactions. I created a PF/SF player. Still working on the sliders to have the game as sim as possible for me. Definitely was a block party. Had a blast in my opener even though I took that L. Gonna be a fun year in 2K19.

usually create myself rated somewhere between 70-80 overall

Once I get them game I will see how things are.

So, how’s the game treating you? I’ve been playing almost exclusively on my Switch. Playing with “custom” feels weird no matter what I do so this morning, I decided that in this new MyLeague (40 combined games in the previous 2 attempts) I’ll be position locking on the PG and playing Pro. Lost the first game w/ SAC by 20+ To UT but I was already down big when I decided to go Pro. We’ll see how game #2 goes.

I always want to play this way but in earlier versions I find that my AI teammates are lackluster both offensively and defensively and seldom produce respectable numbers which puts the pressure on my created PF to go into superstar mode. Is it better this year? I just want to help my team, but I don't want to be the scoring focus every game.

I didn’t play much 2K18 and can’t remember previous games because I didn’t advance very far but in the 40’ish games I’ve played with CHI, Jabari Parker averaged about 25 per and Zach LaVine averaged about another 20. Keep in mind though that I play with normalize sim stats & mins turned on for my 8 min qtr games.
