The double teaming is the worst thing for inside centers this year.

    Especially in MyCareer.

There's no logic in the double teaming; the AI will constantly double team the inside center and leave a 3pt shooter wide open. And if you don't pass it before getting double teamed, you're going get stripped, get put in animation for a jump ball or you're going to have to force the shot. Also, they'll do it even if you're winning or losing by 30.

I've tried pro to hall of fame difficulty and it's all the same. I'm just frustrated why this is is in the game.

Simple, it's to stop you from generating too much MyPoints and VC from big performances. I have a pure post, they would double me on the first possession, there was no rational reason for it other than to curb your progression.

The double team is not only for inside players. Im a pure shot creator SG and Im seeing double teams before I even hit 10 points. I experience this on HOF and SS difficulty.

It's pretty ridiculous. I have a post scoring PF, and was getting double teamed in the first half with 6 points and 7 assists. I had more assists than points, and the CPU was double teaming me.

I can definitely relate. It sort of hinders the experience especially if you're wanting realism. Seems as though 2k worries more about people getting to 99ovl too easily than having a realistic game mode that people can become hooked on and play throughout the entire game's cycle.

If they're worried about inside centers hitting 99 quickly then they need to make shooting much harder. I know a lot people who are hitting 85% to 90% of limitless threes on hall of fame.

And to top if off, you're getting ripped by players with low stealing ability.... and they don't even have pick pocket.

This happens all the time to my center in SS difficulty. Then i just look for the open Corey Harris and he drains it from the 5th row

Crazy thing is, is that your teammates dont even space the floor properly when you get doubled teamed, they run to the same spots some of them.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves with 2K. Unless you're a PG, you can't call even a simple isolation on a blatant mismatch, and your teammates will run their defenders right next to you, making it impossible to take advantage.

It's the worst when posting up and the AI decides to call a play, and your CPU teammate who is supposed to have the ball to start the play will literally stand next to you until you pass it.

                    yup.

nothing worse then your own teammates standing in the paint helping the defense.

                      Found this on Twitter:

I don't understand why 2K think by putting this thing in their game is a good idea. It's actually going to annoy inside centers and they're going to stop playing their game.

The double teaming was over the top when the game first came out.... but has got worse with every single update and patch.

There's a basketball solution to be had here.

In the above video that guy is playing terrible basketball. Sees the triple team, passes to a teammate, then runs towards that teammate.

If he instead passed out of the triple team, then ran to a spot where he can score quickly he would be playing basketball the way every superstar has played for generations.

That's why guys like Nikola Jokic are valuable post scorers. They can pass.

Solution: Pass when you see the double coming (or shoot). Get one of your teammates hot and they won't be able to double or triple you.

This is a huge issue in this years game. (Last years as well). Referring to off-line, the CPU seems hardcoded to double specific star players, but the AI logic is nowhere near where it needs to be to effectively double-team.

If Steph Curry scores 8 points in a quarter (the number of points tends to vary), immediately the CPU defense goes crazy and defenders will sprint off their man to double (leaving Durant, Klay, etc wide open). At times, the defensive Center will literally sprint away from Cousins and leave him wide open under the basket to double Steph eight feet outside the arc.

I hope Scott OG takes a hard look at this and pushes an update to ACE or whatever drives this logic. Personally, I would prefer they completely disable double teams until the logic/code is in place to support it.

So you're basically saying we should just get awful xp just so we can play proper basketball?

Regardless, this isn't the only example of the double teaming. There are tons of times where I'm in the post up position.... and as soon as I get the ball the AI is already on their way to double teaming me. They will literally leave a 3pt shooter open just so they can stop me from getting a 2. That's just awful logic and wouldn't happen in the NBA. Yeah, I can pass it out and get the easy 3..... but that gets me absolutely no rep at all.

Most people are playing career because of the xp it gives not because they want to play proper basketball.

If you're MyPlayer is a truly dominant God big like many are it would happen. Only reason it doesn't happen in the NBA currently is there aren't any legendary big men.

When Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, Olajuwon got the ball in the paint you better believe 3 point shooters were being left WIDE open. Hence why guys like Kenny Smith were putting up BUCKETS.

This happens in real life. We haven't seen them with Boogie but if you watch Klay and Durant get a ridiculous number of wide open shots when Curry starts cooking.
