I only really play MyGM and MyLeague whereas my friends are just playnow and Career mode. So I would greatly appreciate any and all thoughts you have for me. Thank you.

Is 2k19 worth getting?
It’s $29 at Walmart right now and I wanted some opinions on whether or not to cop. I’ve heard lots of bad and not that much good tbh.

I got it, I waited till black Friday just because I wanted the sale and there's not much of an upgrade. And I play the same game modes as you

If you’re playing modes that allow sliders and don’t mind messing with them, then yes.
But out of the box, it’s not great, so if you’re playing any modes that don’t allow custom sliders, it’s not worth it.

With slider adjustments to improve the player movement, it is worth it. The depth is as good as always, the CAP feature is the best it's ever been, and the HDR is unreal at times (Up close shots on cutscenes, at the line are amazing). It’s $29 at Walmart right now and I wanted some opinions on whether or not to cop. Re: Is 2k19 worth getting?
Heck yeah it's worth it . Most of the crying is by the online hoi polloi.
I also have to disagree with poopador, sorry buddy. I play career mode, where sliders are inoperable, and it's still a really good game of bball. Then again ignorance is bliss, so I don't know what I'm missing slider-wise.Comment

At $29, it's worth it, unless you hate basketball. The price point is too low to NOT buy NBA 2K19, and we're barely a month into the NBA season.Comment

Re: Is 2k19 worth getting?
Its definitely worth it, for that price. I only play offline ML, and while there is a few things that I dont like about NBA2k19, overall its the best basketball video game to date, as IMO there is more things done well than not.
The issues, are for the most part legacy issues this game has always done bad, and things they either dont know how to fix, or they just simply ignore fixing, because they spend most of their time concerning themselves with online play.
It was smart of you to wait, in some ways I wish I had waited, but for that price its definitely worth the purchase.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: Is 2k19 worth getting?
Honestly, i have a lot of issues with this game. I have issues every year. While i admit, this game is doodoo online, it has its bright spots. Career is considerably the best it's been in years due to takeover. I play with the Lakers right now and if you get LeBron hot he actually has 3 icons it can swap through. If you get him hot with a pass, he'll flash slasher and playmaker takeover. If he makes a good play on defense (block/steal) and gets hot he gets the lockdown takeover instead of the playmaking one.
He's really unstoppable, even tho he's only averaging 24ppg for me (I'm averaging 33ppg almost entirely off the break - I'm a playmaking slasher) his rebound and assist numbers from last year are up.
If you can create the right player for the right team, career can be very fun.Comment

Re: Is 2k19 worth getting?
Let me be clear, I play 100% offline. I'm a MyLeague guy, retro content guy, sim guy, etc. But without slider tweaks (for me) as I stated in my two player movement threads, it wasn't enjoyable out of the box.Heck yeah it's worth it . Most of the crying is by the online hoi polloi.
I also have to disagree with poopador, sorry buddy. I play career mode, where sliders are inoperable, and it's still a really good game of bball. Then again ignorance is bliss, so I don't know what I'm missing slider-wise.
I needed to correct the speed/acceleration breaks, and improve on the clunky change of direction, eliminate some of the "Invisible walls", and correct the pace overall (like on the break, where your players speed either breaks or he runs so slow with the ball that defenders easily catch him, or warp in front of him).
The game has MANY good qualities, but gameplay is the #1 most important thing, and I wasn't enjoying the game until making those necessary tweaks to the player movement. Now, I enjoy the game. Even better, the gameplay now reminds me (and the graphics from the broadcast perspective) to some of the last gen NBA 2K's like NBA 2K11, which most agree is one of the best games in the series. Obviously the graphics are better now, but just the overall look of it including the shape of the player models, etc.
It's certainly worth it for $29, or full price. It's all about the gameplay, and if you can get that right, you are golden.Comment
