Cpu shooting IQ gets lower each year

For the past few years the CPU on Hall of fame takes stupid contested inside shots all game except the warriors.I noticed nobody rarely talk about this and I think that's the main reason why Hall of fame been so easy on Next Gen.

Stars only play like stars when their open.
You start messing with sliders then they start building bricks for the community even with consistency at 100
Next Gen was suppose to boost artificial intelligence not dumb it down.

Untill this progress please bring back the cheating sliders just for the human vs CPU challenge.

From what I've noticed, the issue is player tendencies and how 2K Basketball is played. The AI takes a lot of these contested inside/close shots because that is often what is most available to them even if not a great shot. It's often not easy for them to find open 3s because the called plays aren't going to work that well, and the user is usually smart enough to take away those shots quickly.

The AI also doesn't react great with clear mismatches, and when they do, it's not reacting quick enough to take advantage. If the AI has a star player going against even an average rated defender, they should be feeding them and attacking that until the user properly adjusts (which then will start opening up 3s).

Some players and teams have tendencies that make a lot more sense (and work well with that player's playstyle/attributes), and others simply do not.

Edit: To be specific, I've found that players like Tobias Harris, Khris Middleton, Nikola Vucevic, Collin Sexton, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kawhi Leonard, Ja Morant, Julius Randle, Anthony Davis, Luka Doncic, Domantas Sabonis, Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Lowry, Christian Wood, Karl Anthony Towns, Norman Powell, all to not be as aggressive as could and should be with finding their shots.

Some of the players that notably play as they should are... Giannis, Lebron, Westbrook, Curry, Trae Young, Victor Oladipo, Donovan Mitchell, Harden, Durant, Irving, Wall, DeRozan, D'Angelo Russell, Lillard, McCollum.

I think the other thing is since the addition of the AI having to time shots, they're less of a threat across the board and the results are more random.

Personally I'm of the mindset that HOF should have less cheese, and the AI should (ideally) play smarter. If a more experienced player wants more challenge has to bump up the CPU shot success sliders to make things more difficult, that may be the preferred solution in the eyes of 2K compared to more average players sticking to HOF then complaining about the AI cheating and being way too difficult.

Standing layup success / post play in this game is horrendously awful, so bad that I made a thread about it a few weeks ago.

I really feel like this game is forcing you to play strictly by modern NBA standards, which is nothing but space the floor & shooters at all 5 spots. It legitimately bothers me that 5 out is a viable option every single year with this game & no consequences. I first noticed people really having absurd success with this play style back in 2k12 when guys used to 5 out with the Lebron Heat back then.

Lots of classic teams are rendered unplayable against modern teams because they feel less athletic than a JV high school team.

The shot contest system isn’t realistic and it can’t be because of online play and how people would abuse it. 2K plays a very black and white game when it comes to shooting. Contested you miss, open you likely will make the shot. This not how basketball ball works. Shot contest in reality matter much less than they do in 2K.

In reality you need to be in the shooters shot pocket to force consistent misses. That’s 0-2 feet according to closest defender tracking. These are typically really hard shots and are taken very few times per game as well as converted very few times, at around 15-20 percent.

If the defense is any further away than that then it’s really up to the player and how he’s feeling that night. None of this is really done accurately in 2K.

The plays aren’t effective and getting shooters open 3s because despite the the info represented on screen (in game shot contest percentage), the contest are still too strong even at something as light as 15 percent contest.

Yeah some of the tendencies are jacked up, that’s just 2K for you. However, custom rosters have been fixing this issue for a long while. The core contest system just makes things look much more out of whack than they seem.

Everything lies in the default ratings/tendencies.

              It is that simple
              Concrete evidence/videos please

So does USERS. 2K reward low IQ, more arcadey, bad shot selections this year more than any other so far. And previous years were already bad.

2K, stop rewarding bad players in PNO, Park and REC.
