360 - WHERE TO DRAG ROSTER FILES TO:
<o></o>
Note: it is recommended that you already have a game save for the game in question on your hdd, making it easier to locate the folder to drag the files/folders into.
On your hdd, go to partition 3, content, user profiles, YOUR PROFILE, then the appropriate folder and sub folder. For some (e.g. college hoops drafts) you will need to copy the entire profile to your hdd, as the necessary files are hidden/attached to this. In this case the new profile will have to be loaded to access these.
If you copy an entire profile to your hdd, (more common if you are getting the file from a .z36 format, go to your memory blade, games, the game in question, and you should see a save with “Unknown profile” underneath it, press A and choose copy (while signed in as your regular gamertag) and you should then have the needed file attached to your gamertag.
For original xbox rosters (e.g. NFL 2K5) attach your hard drive and open it in the xport software - go to partition 3 - compatibility - then UDATA - and 53450030, the drag the folders in

360 - WHERE TO GET XPORT 1.07:

<o>
</o>360 - TO USE A Z36 FILE WITH AN XPORT/ DATA MIGRATION CABLE (DMC):<o>
</o>To use these directly on a hdd - run xport 1.07 and open the z36 file, it will convert it to a bin (image), open this image in xport, and copy the necessary folder to your desktop. Use xport 1.07 to open your hdd, then drag this new folder onto your hdd into the appropriate place. Alternatively you can open two instances of xport, one for your hdd, and one for the image and copy the files directly to your hdd (from one xport window to another).
*if for some reason this file comes up as a ROSS one instead of ROS - all you have to do is rename it to a ROS one and it will work

</o>360 - INSTALLING THE DRIVERS TO USE THE DMC:
I am using a Vista Ultimate - SP1 laptop. I have device manager open while doing this to see what usb devices are installing/ed. I have also had this work on my friend's XP - SP2 PC, and a XP SP3 laptop.
I plugged the cable only in and waited for two drivers to completely install: in usb devices - a mass storage device; and disk drives a usb device. I then (safely) removed the cable, plugged in my hdd to the cable, and replugged this (cable with hdd attached) into my pc. This then updated the disk drive part and showed up as a fujitsu drive. Safely remove the cable and restarted my pc.
Plug in the cable (with the hdd already attached) and then start xport 1.07, or xplorer 360 - both pick up my 120gb fine.
My hdd will only be accessible from a usb 2.0 port, not a usb 1 in xport 1.07, it will show up in both, but then hang the program if you are using a usb 1.
My original hdd (a 20gb bought with my pro console in August 2006) does not appear correctly when using these steps though - leading me to believe there is an issue with older drives, and not the cable. I have tried reformatting my 20gb, but have not had success*.
* except for one time, which I have been unable to replicate.
