    2K10 Contract Adjustment Thread

Much like last season, 2K does not have the contracts accurate.

Use this thread to post incorrect contracts. Maybe we can send this into 2K and they will adjust accordingly
    Concrete evidence/videos please

    Re: 2K10 Contract Adjustment Thread

    Re: 2K10 Contract Adjustment Thread

Had to dig through pages to find this thread. I was just about to start a new one.

Okay, so I've gone through every team's contracts and edited them to match what I saw on shamsports.com and storytellercontracts.com.

Couple of points I should make before I start listing them:
    - We can never know how accurate the contracts are because the NBA doesn't give out the info. But I've used two sites (storytellercontracts.com and shamsports.com) that take the time out to check (shamsports seems to even check with agents sometimes), so they are as accurate as can be
    - I was extremely picky. Even if the values were a tiny bit off, I changed them in my game.
    - I'm going to list 6 teams at a time.
    - Putting contracts in the k values (like 825K) is really hard to do accurately in the game. Just get it as close as you can.
    - Some early termination options I regarded as player options in the game since they are usually player options in the NBA. You don't have to do that if you don't want to, but if you want accurate rosters, you should imo. I denoted the player options that are actually early termination agreements with a *
    - I'll do a spreadsheet later on if anyone wants them. Same goes with a 2K share roster.
    - Some of the team options actually mean that the contracts are unguaranteed. A lot of the unguaranteed contracts in the NBA have some small buyout, or in rare cases, a large buyout/compensation clause. Since we cannot emulated that in the game, I just left them as team options.

    76ers
    Brand - Player Option *
    Dalembert - 12.02m/12.91m
    Kapono - Player Option
    Williams - 4.97m/5.00m/5.18m/5.35m (Player Option *)

Wallace - 9.50m/9.50m/9.50m/9.50m (keep the player option)
    Mohammed - Player Option
    Felton - should be unrestricted.
Brown - team option (unguaranteed contract)

    Bucks
    Bell - Player Option *
    Delfino - 3.5m/3.5m/3.5m (2 year team option)
    Ilyasova - 2.1m/2.32m/2.54m (team option)
    Mbah a Moute - 736k/854k (team option)
    Meeks - 650k/762k/884k (team option)

    Bulls

    Gibson - Team Option
    Moon - 3.00m/3.00m

    Celtics
    Pierce - Player Option *

    Wallace - Player Option

    House - 2.86m
    Davis - 2.5m/2.5m
    Rondo - 2.09m

      Re: 2K10 Contract Adjustment Thread

      Clippers
      B. Davis - 12.10m/13.00m/13.90m/14.75m (Player Option *)
      Camby - 9.15m

      Grizzles
      Gasol - 3.33/3.58
      Haddadi - 1.63/1.60
      Young - 824k/886k/947k (Team Option)

      Hawks
      Williams - 7.5m/6.71m/7.50m/8.29m/7.5m (Player Option *)
      Bibby - 6.22m/5.56m/6.22m
      Pachulia - 4.75m/4.25m/4.75m/5.25m
      Joe Smith - 825k
      Collins - 825k

      Heat
      O'Neal - 23.02m
      Richardson - 8.70m
Jones - 4.33m/4.65m/4.97m/5.29m - Weird problem with this contract. The final 3 years are partially guaranteed, but you can't do that in 2K. It's unlikely that the real life Heat would pick up the option for 2010 (to keep cap room to add players in the 2010 free agency), so I left it as it is in the game, with only 2 years and the final year a team option
      Wright - 2.89m
      Diawara - 945k
      Magloire - 8.25k
      Anthony - 825k/885k (Player Option)
      Chalmers 756k/854k (keep team option)

      Hornets
Paul - 13.52m/14.94m/16.36m/17.78m (keep player option)
      Stojakovic - 13.39m/14.26m (Player Option *)

      Marks - 825k

      Millsap - 7.69m/7.60m/8.10m/8.60m
      Miles - Team Option

No clue. That problem is also apparent for many teams, like the Blazers who are still paying Miles, and a few other teams who have small amounts on their cap due to bought out players who are no longer on the team.

Last year I came up with 2 options:

Create a ghost player and stick them on the team with crappy ratings and the contract values, and pray the CPU doesn't play them/trade them, or, add the contract amount to a player that's already on the team. The second option tends to screw up trades though, so I usually added the contract values to players who won't get traded (like stars).

I don't have a way around it this year yet.

According to what hoopshype got on players' salaries, 2K got most of the players' salaries on point.

              Don't use HoopsHype.

Sometimes their values are made up or not checked with agents/reports and the like. That's why I use shamsports/storytellers, who do go out and ask agents, read the reports, and know the inner workings of the CBA to calculate contracts.

                  Re: 2K10 Contract Adjustment Thread

                  No problem.

A prime example of how hoopshype gets it wrong is the Millsap contract. They have him at 10 million for the year.

That's partly accurate. Millsap got paid 10 million upfront (75% his actual contract of 6.something million + 5ish million bonus), but not all of that gets counted on the Jazz cap at once. It's spread throughout the life of the contract. Thus, his contract hit for this year is 7 mill something, not 10 million like hoopshype suggests.

Millsap got paid this year man. 10 million in about 7 days lol.

Haha I wish I checked this thread before. I was posting all the contract updates that need to be made in an excel file using the salaries listed on Shamsports + Storyteller site and got through 1/3rd of the teams before deciding to take a break...

I'll post the excel file here for anyone who wants it, but if you have this done for every team and want to update the excel file (or split the remaining teams with me) feel free to do so Kully.

If not I'll get around to completing the excel file eventually...

I'll post the excel file here for anyone who wants it, but if you have this done for every team and want to update the excel file (or split the remaining teams with me) feel free to do so Kully.

If not I'll get around to completing the excel file eventually...

I'd like to compare what I've done with your work. That would be great because I'm still unsure with some of the stuff.

Thanks a lot, this will help greatly.

I've finished off the rest of teams, just typing them up now. I'll add them to your work.

Mobley is an easy solution. He is still taking up a spot on the Knick roster, as Eric Snow was with Cleveland last season.
