Complete List of Players Hidden/Locked by 2K in rosters

For over a month I have been asking the question, "What is the reason behind 2K hidding/locking current NBA players and/or free agents?" I have never once gotten any type of response back from anyone with knowledge, BUT thanks to community member, Rondo Is God, I want to show EVERYONE why 2K has dropped the ball and this further acknowledges that NOBODY there spends at least a single minute correcting this unexcusable FLAW and since they avoid any and all questions concerning this I expect nothing to change, but look at the AMOUNT of players that we are not able to use...

retired/euro players get hidden, non signed/garunteed rookies too.. why? idk probably a memory or rights problem?

the sad part is some of those guys have been on pre season rosters....

Any type of LEGAL statement 2K says about this situation is flawed and compelete garbage because I can look to this list to contradict their statements.

"Grant Hill and Tracy McGrady retired so we hid/locked them"

Hasn't Brian Skinner, Juwan Howard, Matt Carroll, Jared Jeffries retired as well, yet they are ALL still usable?

"Well Julyan Stone is a free agent"

Hasn't he been a member of the Denver Nuggets roster for the past 2 seasons? And if that is the case, then by that guideline ALL free agents should be locked and hidden.

"Players contracts aren't guaranteed"

You have many players with non guaranteed contracts either on a teams roster currently or sitting in free agency. If players have to be locked/hidden until their contracts become fully guaranteed then the entire free agenct pool should be exist or be filled with a single player.

All their reasons and statements...GARBAGE...my counter arguements for each prove that.

It's pretty ridiculous that they would take their time in adding all of these players into the game, only to have 90% of them never make an appearance on their official rosters.

You can also add Pero Antic to the list. He's on Olympiakos in the game but not on the FA list or the Hawks, where he should be.

Seems like "christian7210" and "flyingMcFly" have uploaded a bunch of these players to 2Kshare (Xbox).

Does anyone know what the limit for DNA downloads is in 2K14? I remember not being able to download any more players in 2K12 (I believe) because I had reached the limit, which was 50 if I remember correctly.

Yes, christian7210 and flyingmcfly have been able to upload many of the hidden/locked players with the CF on 2kshare and I don't believe there is any download limit, and if there is I think one way around it was last year users made multiple gamertags in order to upload all the players, but I could be completely mistaken in that.

And see the thing is this though, guys like christian7210 and flyingmcfly and others who are better at finding this stuff in hex editing then I am, they shouldn't have to use their own free time to do something that 2k should have done when they released their product. I dont know about anyone else, but does anyone else feel like they have been cheated out of their money year and year out with knowing that 2k DELIBERATLY has hidden/locked players (current or played in the nba over the last 2 seasons) on the game disc but not available? I seriously feel like I paid WAY to much for a unfinished or better word to use "LIMITED" version of their product. And while many may take my meaning of "limited" and come at me from all different angles, the fact of the matter is that if WE don't have the ability to use THE ENTIRE GAME at our choosing then that needs to be labeled on the product box that they put on shelves because the reason why they dont is because if you walked down the aisle and seen NBA 2K14 on the shelf with a sticker on the box that says, "users will only have limited access to game disc" then you might just decide to go down the aisle a lil further and pick up GTA 5 (which by far, hands down destroys 2K) because at least I can do ALMOST EVERYTHING possible and I'm not limited in my use of the game.

But back on point, 2k and their roster updates are meaningless and everyone shouldn't get thier hopes up in the next coming months because the addition of 1-2 players per update not only look ridiciulous, but also show just how much 2k uses their so called "features" to better their product in the eyes of their customers.

I would not be surprised at all if at least some of this has to do with licensing issues and whether or not these players are members of the NBPA or whatever.

Now, the following example is for Madden NFL games, but back in the early to mid- 00s, you could not play as LaVar Arrington, even though he was arguably one of the very best linebackers in the league at the time, because he was not a member of the NFLPA. Same goes for Bill Bellichick never being in the game (He could be now for all I know, but he wasn't for SEVERAL years - it always just said NE Head Coach). This also applies to a lot of the NCAA sports games. None of the players names are in the game fully, but if you enter them in manually (or dl a roster) all of the announcers already know all of their names...surprise!

I really can't be that mad about the exclusion of about 97% of these names either. They are, for lack of a better word, nobodies for the most part; bottom tier dudes who will likely not play at all this season, or if they do, have such a limited role that it's pointless getting mad about them not being added.
