MISSING: Post up then quick spin and run towards hoop

When is 2K going to bring this in??

I think NBA live 2006 has this.

Quick big men with good footwork should be able to post up then spin and run towards the hoop .

Not a lot of players are doing this right now but DUncan did it against the heat yesterday. He posted up, spun towards the baseline and dunked it hard. It's different from the drop step cause he still continued dribbling on his way to basket.
The laker shaq used to do it a lot for the easy power dunk. He left a lot of centers in the dust.

Again, don't start defending why it's not in the game. I'm just tryin to help make the game better. It should be there next year.

You are right. They should incorperate that move in this game that is a huge part of some big mens offence.

Actually, I think that a move like this is in the game where you can post up and do a quick spin from the post up and drive towards the basket hard. The thing is, it should also be possible to do this with only your back turned but not engaged in the post up animation.

Also, I would like to see the implementation of a face-up post game where the player or AI could be engaged in the post up animation, disengage from that, pivot to face up, and jab step and drive, or sink the J in the defender's face, etc.

It is in the game, its just not effective. When you post up a defender(xbox) do a 360 on the right thumbstick and your player will perform the move you're talking about...sort of. He will try to spin around the defender toward the basket but he ends up just rotating into the defender and gets nowhere. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever tried to do this move with a good low-post scorer like Duncan or Garnett, maybe it does work with them, I dunno. Try it out and see if it works.

*EDIT:My bad. I meant do a 360 on the LEFT thumbstick while holding the left and right triggers.

*ps. the manual,in game or booklet, is THE worst manual ever. Neither one of them tells you half the controls for the game. I feel bad for people who don't go to sites like this to find out moves/controls. Kickass game anyways.

Actually, I think you can do this move as well. If you pass to a player who is already posting up his man, hold down the left and right triggers(xbox) right before he catches the ball. He'll post up without dribbling and you can do a couple moves from there. I'm not sure exactly what moves you can do as I always forget to go into practice mode and try it out, but I always see Dirk Nowitzki do a move where he sticks his butt into the defender to push him back then takes a turn around jumper. Again, the manual sucks.Hope that helps. Not the manual sucking part...the stuff before it.

Not quite the same thing I'm talking about, but still, thanks I'll try that out.

In any case, I'd also like to see post-up tendencies (hok shot, turnaround jumper, face up, and back down) implemented into 2k7.

Re: MISSING: Post up then quick spin and run towards hoop

I did some expeirimenting and this is what I found: When you pass to a player already posting up his man and hold both triggers down without moving the left thumbstick, he will back into his man while holding the ball out in front of him without dribbling. He will continue to do scripted animations trying to push his man off his back, while still not dribbling, as long as you are holding the triggers down. If you push away from the basket (still holding both triggers) your man will turn and face up the defender in the triple threat position without dribbling and you can do a jab step, pump fake or whatever. I've heard that in the 360 version you can do an ISO move out of the jab step, but I haven't been able to do it on the Xbox version. That sounds like what you were looking for, but I might be wrong. Hope that helps.

              *ps. the manual sucks.

you can spin out of a post up...

What you do is Push the Left trigger to engage into the post, then Hold the R trigger (aggressive Modifier) and do a 360 on the LEFT ANALOG stick....

Thats how you do it... Thank me later..

The move sucks though, as someone already pointed out, you do a spin directly into your defender and it looks basically like a mario running animation. You may get a few feet closer to the basket but your defender will still be in your face.
