Should I delete NBA 2K8 Patch?

I don't play online, so should I clear my cache, and get rid of the NBA 2K8 patch? (I will reload my other patches I like). What do you guys think? I haven't had much playing time on this game yet because I have been playing football, but I am home for the holidays, and want to play now.

Is the game really better offline pre-patch? Thanks for your opinions.

why the heck would you do that.the game flows so much better against the ai with yhe patch.also download the slider excel spreadsheet and tweak your sliders .since the patch and the slider sheet i have had some great games.

You must head to the "Patch Store". Just log into Live, head to the market place, and you'll find the "Patch Store" in the "game content" section.

keep the patch if you like arcade play, delete it if you like sim.

Thanks. Haven't played it yet pre or post patch, but I have the patch on it right now. I will take your advice. Do you have any particular slider you like for realistic play?

No, I have the patch on now, but you can clear your cache, and as long as you don't go back online, or unplug your wireless or ethernet cable before loading NBA 2K you could play pre-patch if you wanted to. You would need to reload all of your other patches you want though. Remember if you are connected to the internet when the game is in, you would not have a choice, it would make you update the game, unless you are not connected.

I have just heard some people say that the patch has made the game worse if you don't play online, so that is why I am asking.

Anyone else feel this way? I guess I could try it out by clearing my cache, play about 10 games, then try it out with the patch and play about 10 games, but this could be slider dependent also.

Because you say so? If I recall correctly, the vast majority voted for the patch in your thread. Not that it was necessary; I think it goes without saying that I think VC knows what they're doing. To act as if they don't know any better and are purposely wrecking the gameplay is ridiculous. No, the game isn't perfect - but it shouldn't have to be; it's still the best ever by a significant margin. The funny thing is some people complained incessantly pre-patch, complained incessantly when a patch was announced and didn't get released on XBL immediately, and complain incessantly now. Hopefully VC recognizes that there are a lot of us that appreciate their efforts

1. 2k shoulda listened to themselves a little more when the noobs started complaining about missed layups and complained and blamed the developers instead of blaming their own lack of skill or lack of understanding the game. Also, wouldn't you rather have a game that was quality tested for months and months before the release date, than have a major gameplay patch that could only be tested for a month or two max?

2. I provided reasons why I thought post patch is more arcade, 2/3's voted for post patch but its funny that hardly any explained why they voted, maybe their just fan boys or former nba livers who love a dunkfest. The proof is what happens now when you play online. When you go on xbox live, the game is a layup / dunk fest - that wasn't the case pre patch.

3. Welp I wasn't one of those who complained pre patch because the game was good aside from the double team glitch and the ft's. I'll say something now because it sucks that noobs who sucked and bitched loud enough made this game worse than it was, which is the same thing that resulted with nba 2k3 turning into nba 2k4.

4. A fundamental gameplay thing that I wish they didn't change it is now, I can't count how many times post patch that I've been wide open time and again and they brick it like Artest is in their grill. Why mess with this when pre patch had this nailed PERFECT? Just don't get it.

Im on the PS3 I' seriously considering deleting the patch, the game just played more sim and was funner before the patch. I need some feedback by people who have deleted the patch. I'm guessing that after I delete it I shouldn't connect to the internet so I won't be prompted to delete the patch, which is fine since I don't play online and I've already updated my rosters. Has anyone tried this yet? I loved how the game played before the patch, I just need some reviews from anyone who has deleted the patch, any glitches, framrate drops?
