    Blocked Shots

Is anybody else having problems such as myself? I get blocks in the game - but when I'm playing as JOSH SMITH, I expect more than one block her game. I expect about 3 with the occasional 7 in a game. Can anybody give me tips on blocking shots, sliders, strategy - anything - I need to be havin a block party when im playin with Josh Smith...

      Re: Blocked Shots

Raise his Block Rating to 99 and Raise his Contest Shot Tendency to 90

Also Raise your Global Blocks Slider (I have mine set at 60 right now)
I have my global Contest Shots Tendency at 60

In games that I have played with him, I can get 3 to 5 blocks with regularity and playing against him, he is a beast and forces you to pay attention to where he is.

            Re: Blocked Shots

I get descent amount of blocks using Nene, sometimes I get games where he gets about 5+.

For me, most of the blocks come from perimeter shots. It's really quite easy in this years game.

Say, if youre defending someone with a decent shot, I give them the option of taking that shot then its quite easy from there. I dont even hav to use the aggresive button at times.

In my association, I lead the league in blocks by the way. JUST.

                  Re: Blocked Shots

My created player is a small forward 6'10". I have troubles blocking also. I average 1 per game right now which isn't too bad considering I was like .3. I've been a bit more aggressive.

My block rating is at 99. The overall slider is at like 80 I think. Is there some trick to timing a block? Do you just jump, or use the turbo also? Jump soon, jump late? Use the D-assist?

                  How do you block shots?

using turbo will block more shots for you. just pressing jump will block more shots on the perimeter but inside the paint or if ur coming from the weak side, using turbo will help u more.

timing is crucial as well. u want to go for the block JUST AFTER THEY JUMP TO SHOOT. learning the tendancies of ur opponent helps also. like how they shoot and predicting what they are going to do.

                    hope this helps

                      Re: Blocked Shots

I switch defenses from man to a box & 1 zone with the hawks and try to bait the ballhandler to drive the ball. I have Horford & Smith down low, and when the ballhandler gets by me i just switch and block. also I try to anticipate a jump shooter, by recognizing the plays being ran. If you play small ball, and put Smith at the 5, try using a Halfcourt trap defense, the comp plays faster and they tend to just chuck up jump shots that are easy to block.

I get about 2.7 blocks a game with Smith & about 1.3 with Horford

                        Re: Blocked Shots

the best technique at blocking interior shots that i have found is:.......mark the player, and just as the opponent is going up for a shot, switch to another player so the cpu takes over. as the cpu is quicker and more accurate with its reactions, u should get a successfull shot blocked..depending on the players size ratio, S.B. attributes and S.B tendencies.

I do that as well. The CPU seems to be more successful when it comes to shot blocking.

i only do that when face to face defending the basket....when it comes to trailing the opponent in transition, : ie the prince-miller swat...the best technique is to do it all youself with good timing...man it feels sweet to connect on one of those.....
